I attended my first game - so i have been informed at the age of 6 in 1959 - and I have been going ever since through a lot more thin than thick times, even when we have not performed to our potential it had a reason.
But, this class of 2018 really has me flummoxed, I was not sorry to see Mr Jukes leave, he could really have you scratching your head with his selections and his over cautious brand of football which turned out forlorn anyway, it seems he adopted the same plan with this new group, but one thing he did not do was to tell them not to be interested on the field.
Keiron Cunningham good nay very good player, but since taking up the tracksuit and shirt and tie his results in anything he has been involved in has gone belly-up, is he a Jonah - perhaps that should have been his name not his son's - nothing seems to work for him.
Even giving his shortcomings I actually feel sorry for Mr Beaumont, he has done everything with the best intentions for Leigh RLFC, if a lot of it has been by his own fruition he has wasted a lot of money, if he has been given advise by people within the club in his employ then get shut.
But back to this team, they are like an ailing man on his death bed who has given up and is awaiting the inevitable, a miracle cure needs to be found and quick but is there enough money in the kitty to finance the treatment before Dr Beaumont gives up and pulls the plug?
