Ideally Elton John could have donated the proceeds of his concert to us but sadly he didn't.
Leigh Sports Village is a stand alone Ltd company and has a duty to maximise it's commercial and revenue opportunities just like any other business as you know.
If we have any wealthy Leigh Centurions fans or indeed any business people reading this with a few quid to spare and would like to buy the stadium naming rights then get in-touch and we can name it what we like and dictate were and when we want signage. Until then we work within the parameters we have and do the best we can.
The reality is we have/ had little or no budget available this year for a big fancy neon sign and LSV very kindly not only agreed to the prime position we now have above the main entrance but funded the costs of the sign and installation including access equipment, labour, plant and associated materials.
While some people will always chose to critise and find fault without knowing the facts there are some people who work closely with the club with regular dialogue with the board who post here so you would think would have a bit more sense. We are all entitled to an opinion and thats all well and good but people need to realise we don't have a bottomless pit of money available so we do what we do to build relationships and show respect to our partners who are working with us to make Leigh Centurions the very best it can be with the tools we have at our disposal.
We'd all love an ideal world sadly we don't live in one so until the next Marwan Koucash comes along we will just have to keep going heads down and doing the best for the club we all love.

Have Kingstone Press bought the stadium naming rights they have 2 big sign at the front of the stadium and inside. We all know the club don't have that kind of money to spend we all wish they had. I have no idea how much a sign would cost or if we would be able to have it erected without the management of the stadiums say so. We all want's what's best for our great club nothing wrong in wanting a sign to be proud of, Andy your doing a great job along with the rest of the board the coaching staff the players all the back room staff and the best fans in the league. keep up the good work, one day lets see that neon sign LEIGH CENTURIONS proudly on the front of the stadium

Andy, while initially I posted my " no comment " to the sign that has been erected, my second post on the subject was actually in defense of the LSV and the club ,if of course you actually read it properly without your pre concieved opinion of my supposed criticism of everything the BOM and the LSV do, it really is tiresome
IF the prime positions are already in use it removes the potential for an income stream for the club and the LSV ,all I was suggesting is IF and WHEN a stadium naming rights sponsor is found, part of the deal could be for a better and more suitable position club sign to be fitted
No criticism of club or LSV in either of these posts
Providing they are read properly with an open mind

As I understand it Kingstone Press sponsor just the west stand, not the stadium itself, as I posted earlier an official stadium naming rights sponsor would end the usage of the LSV stadium in reference to it, ie it would be " Todays SL match between Leigh Centurions and Wigan Walkers from the Rolls Royce stadium at Leigh Sports Village " |

I personally dont think anyone has said anything wrong it just a matter of opinion and everyone s entitled to one .
Im glad we've now got a sign and can see why it's been done like it has but would have loved to see a better quality sign .
But as said earlier in this thread it's a. Start !

Well I have nothing but respect for Steve one of the most genuine and passionate blokes you could meet who has put his money were his mouth his and done great things for RL and Leigh Centurions.
Wouldn't want to have to fight such a nice guy but if I'm being brutally honest I'd sooner Fight Ste than Lynda
My fighting days have hopefully gone but if you can find me a 2ft 3 pie eater with one arm and a rubber neck then I'm up for knocking him clean out |
