What's all this don't like Trevor Barton..The bloke has over the years done hell of a lot for Rugby League both at grassroots and at semi pro level his commitment to Leigh Centurions has never been in question and is Leigh thro n thro glad to see him back on the BOD if the people who put him down put has much effort into Rugby League as Trevor then I would hold my hands up but back off and get behind the board who in my opinion have made a good move in bringing Trevor back

Does anyone know whether this is actually true or not? The person who posted it seems to have heard it second hand and given that neither Andy nor John Roddy knew about I wonder who he'd informed. I'm not saying it's not true, I'm just raising the question.

I understand and respect that not everyone sees eye to eye with TB. However, just to be clear, TB was not really on the BOD at Leigh - he was 'employed' (unpaid) as CEO. If you like, he 'took orders' from the BOD of the time.

If you were to ask TB, he would probably admit to being frustrated, in that role, by not being able to do what he would have wanted to at times, because the BOD chose not to follow his suggestions.

As for John Roddy, he is a highly respected and sought-after member of the business community, and is (IMO) eminently suited to the position of Chairman.

The people who post on here do make me laugh! They can't wait to come on to say how they think such and suchabody is bad for the club or they have done bad things in the past yet no one actually says what these heinous crimes are! We have also been saying how wonderful the new BOM are and now suddenly saying that their judgement is flawed.

I have concluded that most Leigh fans are holier than thou and are not happy unless there's something to whine about. This is why we will not be back in our rightful place of top flight RL for a long long time.

Interesting development

The club now do have a connection with a community ' Entity ' , which is a good thing ( providing that ' Entity ' can deliver what the club needs )

Not very impressed with certain things that Trevor did while acting CEO ( the ' twinning exlplanation interview was pure farce )

However once again people will be judged on what they do, not who they are or what they say , so a clean sheet and like the rest, away you go

Accepting that this could be no more than a rumour, this severing all ties with the club due to a falling out with a particular individual or two (Mick Higgins anybody?) is totally illogical to me. One or two individuals are not Leigh RLFC - individuals come and go, the club is here forever (hopefully).

I remember the late Nat Gilmore who loved Leigh Rugby with a passion but walked away after disagreements with certain people and continued his boycott long after said people had long since parted company.

Over 50 years ago me and a mate stood on the East Lancs trying to hitch a lift to a game at Featherstone.

Brian Bowman and his wife stopped and took us there and back and neither of us have forgot it. We still go. Doubt Brian will stop watching the team he has supported all his life.

To avoid confusion mish, make sure you use the correct name, it is the foundation that you mean as being affiliated to the club ,not the ' Leigh Community Group ' which was the group of people who organised the Fun day on Sunday

During any dealings I've had with Trevor Barton I've always found him to be approachable, professional and above all had the very best interests of Leigh Centurions and the wider Leigh Community very much close to heart. I think people can only be judged at the end of their tenure, so lets get behind the BoM and back them as they strive to get Leigh back to its rightful place at Rugby Leagues 'Top Table'. The future is looking bright with the right people in the right places at the club. The first steps have been taken and I'm sure anyone who was at The Shay for that great NRC victory will not consider it a 'tin pot cup'. Keep Believing!!
