I suppose though even within the club people would disagree.
The coach would want just 1 game over Easter , whereas the guys that pay the bills wouldn't want to see a moneyspinning Bank Holiday fixture dissapear.

I think you will find that with Good Friday may well be the Widnes 'weekend off' or bye as Aussies call it fixture, like ive said in a previous post the club put several suggestions to the RFL all were rejected but the final request for the late KO on the monday.

Did we ask for our free weekend to be moved to Monday, and whoever it was now swap and play Batley? Can't see how RFL could refuse unless Batley or whoever other club is refused to go with it.

Couldn't agree more re fixtures, all's I know from talking to different people is that the club have ben in discussions with the RFL since the draft fixtures were out and have put forward several (details of which are known only to the RFL and whoever was negotiating) 'ideas' none of then except the later KO seemed acceptable to the RFL.
However to be fair I never asked specifics and TBH don't intend to, thats not stopping anyone else from doing so though.

The RFL never cease to amaze me and that includes putting us back up too ,i suppose it must make them feel better sending us to France instead of a good localish derby ,its their way of showing us who the boss is i suppose.

I have just cut out the fixture list out of the Leigh Journal and noticed that the Widnes game on July 25th is shown as a home fixture. I presume this is just a typo on the fixture list unless we are getting to play Widnes twice at home.
