Would be quite happy with purtill because he's severed his time at saints and Huddersfield as well as being the England knights coach so he knows his stuff and with him living in Leigh and playing for Leigh he knows how much it means to the fans for the team to give 100% every week,that's all the fans want because results will take care of themselves if the players give their all and not the rubbish we been given up to now

As we're speaking of Betfred (and trying to link back to the OP), what odds is Freddy offering on Higham completing 25+ minutes on the pitch? Is he match fit? Has he been running on with leaden "magic sponges" and "heavy water" bottles to keep himself in shape?

25 minutes of Higham on the pitch at the moment is required. If its the only 25 minutes all season,it will do its job. Who's idea it was,must be thinking the same.

People asking what happens if KP gets the job full time. I’ll wager in 3 seasons we're back to this same square. Yes he’s a great assistant coach. But he’s no knowledge of getting teams where they need to be. There’s a reason some coaches go years as assistant before making the move to first team. Let KP get experience at a club who doesn’t have such high ambitions as us. Let him earn his stripes at somewhere like Barrow. The best English coach in the game Powell spent how many years at Feb learning the game and what it takes. Leigh need someone who can come in. Turn it round and get a team promoted. Purtill like many coaches linked don’t have that experience.

There's only two coaches that can claim to know how to get promoted in this system, and one of those has just left.

Higham is just a sticking plaster on a wound that needs stitches. Yes, his enthusiasm and spirit are a welcome return but he is only part of the answer. Neither are KP or KC the answer. The answer is a proven coach at SL/NRL level. And I am sick of hearing that Jukes got us into SL. Yes, he was the coach but it was the players, who were treated so shabbily afterwards, who got us into SL. Players like Ridyard, Brierley, McNally,Higson, Beswick, Hopkins, etc.... A monkey could have got us into SL with the team and spirit we had at the time. Jukes got us relegated and then got us into the position we now find ourselves.
