| 3 good players who I think will assist us well this term. Mcartney especially is a decent player and a great acquisition. We need to continue building on our platform and get behind the team.

| Quote: ABP' "Just because we're not sending Davies on loan to you doesn't mean we're not helping you. He's one of our best prospects and we want to put him in the best environment for the best possible deal and we don't think that is Leigh, so why should we lose out to help you whom we have no ties with what so ever? Just because you've lost out on this occaision doesn't mean we're going back on our intentions. In fact, I know a player in our reserves who is in talks with you and as long as the player and Wigan are satisfied with agreements then it will go ahead and that will be ''our way of assisting you getting into Super League.'' You can't expect us to just hand you things on a plate! We obviously have to benefit from agreements too, afterall it's a business as well as a Rugby club.
In regards to the ''shabby trick'' to play on our speccies. They announced the team days in advance of the game so that spectators we're able to see what they were about to pay for and then make their own decision whether to go to the game or not. I saw the team and made the decision not to pay the £14.00 to go the the fixture. How is that a shabby trick?
You should just be thankful Wigan give you anything at all.'"
THANKFUL!Well i've heard it all now ,prey tell why we should be thankful, like you said its got to benifit Wigan at the same time or else players wont be coming .

| As our extremely intelectual Pie Eater says these massive SL clubs dictate the way we should be run after all its Super League not RL anymore is it. Thanks for your comments why don't you save them for expansion and all other things that will benefit the game and leave us small clubs to die quietly.

I think you'll find Wigan (''A massive SL club'') are helping Widnes by loaning them Ben Davies and at the same time we're benefiting by allowing him to have game time. That's an example of how pathetic and wrong the above post is.
We'll be doing similar agreements with Leigh to as long as the deal is right for both clubs and player.

Dont know how this is going to benefit Ben when the chances of 1st team rugby are going to be slim.'"
Sorry Dave, I don't think he'd go to Widnes to play in the reserves, he's been doing that for the past 2 years at Wigan. He'll go there for first team football and will get it ahead of Widnes' props, he's better than their young props.

| stop being so 'holier than thou' Alex the promises were all coming from the Wigan camp (for which Leigh have publically thanked the Wigan club for) and they have not delivered on those promises, you are obviously hardened to the tricks being played by them on your speccies, or are you so thick skinned as to think that less of your speccies would have travelled if they had known before the tickets went on sale that the agreement had been broken and that Wigan were sending a youth team (if that isnt so I look forwad to seeing 1500 of your speccies at Orrell next week.)
Pardon me for not going down on my knees and praying to the sun god that the mighty SL club had agreed to play such unworthy opponents but If you had bothered to read what I wrote I actually said I was thankfull that Wigan had sent a team at all so the last line in your post in reply to me just shows arrogance personified and unfortunately typical of some SL spectators, something which I hoped was above you, and you should know by now im not usually Wigan RFC basher
I look forward to the two club working closer but the initial signs don't look good.
Dave Wigan will not allow Davies to play reserve team football at Widnes, Wigan insist all their loan signings (forget the dual contract malarky things have not changed that much) be given first team football that is their club policy - and rightly so IMO they will learn nothing from playing in a lesser comp than they already do.

Bad day Fred?
The club didn't play tricks on our supporters what so ever. If they had common sense they'd realise the game was a friendly and that the team was obviously going to include youngsters and I believe the club didn't know what Maguire's selection would be before they put the tickets on sale, so more fool the supporters who pre-purchased tickets. Those supporters shouldn't be considered in Maguire's on field preperations and neither should Leigh.
In regards to the last line, it's not arrogance what so ever. Leigh aren't a charity, they are a fully operational Rugby League club and we have no ties with them. Ian Lenegan said they'd like to see Leigh in Super League and would help them and we have done already with the two friendlies regardless of what team was sent from Wigan. Also, there have, is and will be loan player negotaitions between the two clubs. Whether they pull off or not is another story but there ARE attempts to agree terms.
Any help/co-operation/agreements with Wigan is better than none at all, and it's pathetic that there are Leythers whinging about Wigan's recent involvement of the club. It seems to me that some people feel patronised that Wigan are offering to help and are jumping at the chance to take a swipe at the club should the new relationship not go totally Leigh's way.
I really hope your club doesn't share the same view and biterness that some of it's supporters do. Otherwise I hope Lenegan sticks two fingers up at you all and concentrate on working alongside a club such as Widnes whom we're on great terms with.

| When Latics next take priority would you rather play at LSV or Widnes?
Lenegan is keeping options open, but Davies wants to come to Leigh, lives here, socialises here and may still be in education here. I understand deals are trying to be done with you taking some of our academy, that is mutual benefit.
The fact TOC is hacked off shouldnt come before the players interests, so far its one way.

I'd rather play at the LSV, without a doubt.
It's nothing about Davies' social connections with Leigh, it's how he will develop as a player in the right team with the right coaches in the right surroundings. Wigan obviously feel he will benefit more at Widnes, not only that we need Ben to be playing at the highest level possible along side the league's best players and based off last season, he wouldn't achieve this playing with Leigh. There's also the Millward factor, which may have played a part too. Or it could all be down to money. Either way, Wigan didn't let Davies go to Widnes down to spite, there would have been a rational reason.
Just because you've missed out on Davies doesn't mean you'll get no players at all. Like I say, I know at least one player in talks with Leigh.

| Nothing to do with a hatred of Millward, IMO he failed when he came to you, failed to get you relegated.

No, he succeeded. But we cheated our way out of it.
