Some of the most interesting comments I've read this year have been in Derek's Observer column. Astute interesting and aware.

I go wonder though why Derek persists ? We have won the league 3 times , excellent ground finance and fans yet have to go through the charade of M8 without having any real ability to recruit SL players. My concern is that the number of contracts ending this year shows a finality. If it isn't then please RFL don't allow Toulose and Toronto any say in how the home and away aspects of future M8's are organised.

You have just flushed down the pan any credibility that you may have had. Anyone who disagrees with you gets sarcasm and insult.

Pot and kettle comes to mind, this is all I have had since joining the forum. Anyone who says anything against the norm is lambasted and ridiculed.

But have you read the sheeite you posted to get a reaction? As a fan be critical, positive criticism is always good when supported but after all the crap we fans have had to endure this year you have to expect the " oh no not another " type response

The problem is if you feel you are saying something against 'the norm', using facts in your discussion would help greatly. Your very first post on the 10th July having joined on the 9th was a mixture of what most people already knew from reading the rugby papers, which is fine, however it also contained some statements allegedly told to you by a non playing player which I know to be totally untrue. There are several members here who are here just to stir the pot and unfortunately for yourself you placed yourself into that category in many peoples minds with the inaccuracies and tone of your original post. You have clearly been 'lurking for years' (if indeed you are a new member, name changes are not unknown ) and appeared to know exactly the response you would get. There is nothing wrong with opinions, but it helps if they are based on fact.

There are quite a few posters who post against 'the norm' and these posters could also say that those that disagree with them are the ones posting against the norm, the norm is different depending in which view you take. You are not a debater because you don't accept an opposite view so you have a go.

Btw, you also post rubbish, that is not insulting you, it is insulting the stuff you post.

I think most of the people replying on here would be very puzzled by the subject title - Derek lost the team?

From that point on mate you have lost all credibility, first of all the coaching staff pick the team and as far as i can see for every player that leaves we usually find a better player coming in.

Anyone who thinks the team wont constantly evolve is deluded, even the top, top teams who stay successful always add quality YOY. I bet Mr Hetherington wishes he had done that 10 months ago...

Enjoy your time as a Leigh fan this success wont last forever nothing does but why its here be appreciative and happy that you have an owner like Derek who will back the team to the hilt. Whether you like Derek or not is your choice but at the very least every Leyther should be grateful of his fantastic investment and drive for success.

The bitter individuals who have constantly spouted absolute rubbish about Derek are still about in fact they usually rear their head about this time of year in the vain hope that we fail in the 8's and Derek walks away then they can put their capes on and go back to us being a corner shop RL club..
