Think about it if he could defend top notch and set up loads as well he'd be a SL player at the very least if not better! Your never going to get the finished article in the Championship (at least for more than a year) so you look for the best at certain aspects and for me Mick ticks more than a few boxes in that sense!

Happy to see Mick back with us , now it needs some targets to be set , and him to work hard to meet them , if he does then another 2 year deal to be put on the table , he is a freak [ in the nicest way ] of a centre , get him fit and firing and he can destroy teams almost singlehanded

People cannot knock the resigning of Mick Nanyn. We need to use him more nearer the try line.

Rarely gets injured and scores points. Just needs a bit of fitness and confidence and he's a match winner, no doubt about it.

Good news.
Was wondering where all those points would come from if Mick left so its pleasing to see him putting pen to paper.

I had a long think about whether this was a good call or not, i've come round to the idea that i'd rather have him playing for us than our opponents.

Our sides shaping up I reckon.

Glad we've retained him. Get him working hard in the off season, he's bound to be an asset the numbers speak for themselves.

Mixed feelings - there is no doubting Mick's ability with the boot....but as has already been mentioned Riddy is no slouch when it comes to goal-kicking.

We then come to 20 or so tries last season - again, no arguing with the numbers, but be honest - he scores 'em all from 10 yards or less, and any decent centre at this level, with a decent amount of service, should be able to do that! Ask yourself this - was there one of his tries you saw scored and thought "THAT was special!!", or "no one but Mick Nanyn could have scored a try like that!".
You've then got to weigh up the 250 or so points scored by him last season against the number of tries conceded down the Leigh left!! I know we can't blame him for all of them, but it was an obvious weakness in our team last season - which other coaches picked up on and expoited - and Mick was centre on more occasions than any winger playing alongside him, so has to shoulder a lot of the blame for the short-comings in that area. This is something that seriously needs to be worked on in the close season - both his fitness and willingness to get stuck in when we don't have the ball, and his defensive awareness - he needs to build an understanding with his wing man (personally I'd give Higgy the job - solid in defence, and one of the quickest players we have!). If he can work on his weaknesses, and we see an improvement in these areas then fair enough - and it can be done. Just look at the difference in Maden last season. He was a revelation from the player we had in 08!! These things can work, but it's down to the coaching, and the players willingness to listen, and take on board what's being said!!
Maybe the fact that he appears to have checked out his worth in the market - and realised that his 'stock' is not what it was at this level - but that Leigh were prepared to offer him a deal, might lead to a change in him. His chance to repay the faith the club have shown in him, and the opportunity for him to prove the nay-sayers (myself included!) wrong, and prove that he is not just an expensive 'show pony'!!

For me, the jury is still out on Mick Nanyn at Leigh - he's alright.....but he's no Turley!!!

To be honest I'm glad we have him for another year. Rather them points scored for us than against us - everytime he plays against us he scores, and not just kicking

I'm sure he got a hat trick against us at HP for W1dnes once
