Quote: gingdong "Depends how you define a big club'"
It does, which why I asked you to define it.
Quote: gingdong "the words i used are the exact words the Rovers board use for destination super league propaganda purposes.'"
Come on, we can't just repeat the stuff our clubs tell us. Experience suggests that we'd all be looking massively foolish on a regular basis.
Quote: gingdong "I define a big club through history (we have that)'"
Fev as a club have existed for a while? I can think of many other clubs that have history. Hell, even the Fuldon Bronquins have history.
Quote: gingdong "facilities and future prospects.'"
Your facilities are currently adequate but improving, and quite frankly 'future prospects' can be put in the same folder as Cas, Wakey & Bradford stadium proposals. Show me the reality. Wikipedia suggests you've had stadium proposals on the table, in one form or another, since 2008.
Quote: gingdong "We own 18 acres of land near the ground, land that will be changing from green belt as hundreds of houses are to be built very near there, this gives us superb future prospects if managed right.'"
If it happens,
if it is 'managed right'. If's...
When it happens, I'd be keen to accept your argument and Fev
Quote: gingdong "We can certainly compete for crowds if in the top flight as have done before'"
Past performance is not an indicator of future performance, plus your last top flight season was 19 years. That's a long time.
Quote: gingdong "we also have a very wealthy shareholder.'"
We had one of those. Doesn't last...
If this is the probiz guy you're talking about (not sure) then you've got to ask if it's the land and development opportunities attracting him - there's money to be made from that development. I hope it all goes in to the Fev coffers, but I'm not 100% sure it will.
Quote: gingdong "Put it another way i would rather be in our position than some so called big clubs currently in super league'"
I think any ambitious club, run well, can achieve better than probably half of SL because they're run poorly. It's endemic in this sport.
Fev are doing things right, but right now the 'big club' tag is bluster.
