Long time for him to recover though, 8th January is 5 and half weeks away. it would have to be a bad injury to keep him out that long.

Maden over Deano for me too. Deano started last year like a house on fire and his Championship Player of the Month award early doors was well deserved. But he tailed off a bit after the opening 2 months and admittedly wasn't helped by the lack of ball from playing outside Nanyn. Maden had a great season all the way through and would be one of the first names on the team sheet for me.

Think Deano has a LOT of promise and expecting a good season for him with him hopefully recieving the ball on his wing occasionally instead of having to come into the middle and scoot at the forwards all the time. He needs to start scoring a few more tries though, anything less than 10-12 tries from a full season on the wing this year isn't really good enough IMO.

If Clay does sign it would be great competition for both Maden and Deano and will only help strengthen the squad.

I've no doubt he was, and he did a good job of it taking pressure off the forwards and injecting pace up the middle. My point was that it seemed like 75% of the time Deano touched the ball it was in the middle of the pitch and he never got any service to his wing. Hopefully with a new centre he will get the chance to actually take the ball down the wing occasionally! Lets face it, love him or hate him Nanyn is definately NOT a 'wingers centre' and Deano probably suffered because of that last year.

Maiden might not be the fastest winger but he's solid in every area & reliable take a side he's not the quickest he's the best all round winger in this league IMO
