| I don't think I was sulking. I was just making some observations on the fact that a casual spectator would not think he or she was going to an 'outdoor' event. They would possibly be put off from going again by the poor design of the stadium.
I thought that even the most blinkered fanatic might see some point in this argument at a time when we are trying to attract more fans.

| Is this younger generation getting soft? For goodness sake, it's nowt but a drop of water. Don't you have towels at home these days? As somebody said, we never bothered abot rain when we stood in front of the Tommy Sale (MBE - well deserved) Stand. Just got into the rugby and enjoyed it. Or are you all too young to remember winter rugby - now THAT was wet, but we still went every week. Get a life, for goodness sake and stop moaning like big Jessies.

| I reckon there should be a mass protest by the west standers this sunday all demanding the LSV extend the roof of the stand.
Come on folks you know it makes sense.

I have watched Leigh for the last 40+ years so it is kind of you to think of me as the 'younger generation'. I remember taking my dad to a cold wet winter game at HP when he was getting on. He never went again.
I thought that all seater stadia were to cater for this market. To answer Fred's point; my initial post acknowledged there is nothing we can do about the raining in. I did wonder what would happen if Sunday's weather had happened when a larger crowd was in.

| Wasn't really having a go at any posts just stating the obvious really, we have what we have and it's a thousand times better than HP in respect of facilities even though for some things HP was better (income streams potential income streams etc..). And Gordon standing on my 'perch' in the cold and rain be it at Miners or East isn't pleasant but enjoyable all the same, and at the Miners I get eaten alive by insects when the suns out and the one at Easts must be the coldest place on earth even on a sunny day-I must be a nut case .

Deary me, if people leave the house when it is chucking down and dont think to themselves that you may get wet and complain about it, then what is this world coming to?
I bought a Centurions waterproof last season, invest some capital into the club, if people did the same you would be dry and a happy Leyther with another win! I was sat in the west on Sunday, not hard to change when you get back if you get wet is it?

| The original post made a valid point why not open the east stand, just move half the stewards round, no extra cost involved, everyone happy and dry.

If we wanted the full stand open (ie not just the centre section which would end up with people near the front and defeating the whole object of a 'dry' stand) then there would have to be enough stewards to cater for a capacity crowd in both stands. No chance as long as we're at a council-run ground

Because then we can move about the East Stand being wet and campaign for the South Stand to be opened
