They are making all the calls regarding the farcical fixture list, ridiculous travel arrangements, TV coverage (including resulting revenue losses) and seemingly limitless numbers of Brits and Aussies in their ranks.
Visiting support and revenue from Toronto non existent - their fans turn up in a taxi.
The only clubs inconvenienced by it are ALL of the other 13 clubs in the Championship.

In my view this 'mad experiment' is simply unsustainable.

Apart from the actual travelling that most clubs will only have to make once they have little adverse impact on anybody really , yes there won't be any away fans at the LSV and we might lose a couple of dozen ' casual homers ' due to the televising , but that is offset for me by being able to watch our away match in Toronto

They will probably be out of our hair by next year

As for NY ? , well itll be interesting to see what the RFL say they have to do , and what Mr Elstone and the SL bosses decide is the best way

With the collaboration between SKY and Toronto dropping a new NY club straight into a licenced/franchised SL could give them ( depending on Toulouse as well ) a new time slot for 2 games every Saturday as well as the 2 English based games

So it seems they are attracting fans to attend Rugby League matches in this country from somewhere

The TV deal with Sky is the same as they had with Premier Sports for the two previous seasons and allows fans of all Championship clubs in the UK to watch the away fixture in Toronto and I with very many other Leigh fans will be watching this match on TV

Yes you are correct with the Leigh attendance v Toronto but if you are quoting that in Toronto's favour it is also worth noting that it was over 1,000 less than the previous seasons average, considering it was the first game of the season that is quite relevant, if there were 100 TWP fans in attendance I would be very surprised.

I am merely pointing out that eight teams in the Championship had gates above their average against Toronto-were those extra fans reside matters not-it was an increase above their average revenue-even though live on TV.

If you look at last season's gates you will also see that when Leigh visited the attendance was above their average and in most cases, if not all they where higher than when the same team played Toronto.

Most of the points made on this thread add weight to the argument but I suggest the most important over-arching issue is whether the Championship (with Toronto in it) is a fair competition?

Or is it so heavily biased to cater for Toronto's needs and wants as to render it a farce?

I guess the Widnes fans may have a view on this, especially this season. However Widnes are one of just three teams who will not be required to cross the Pond, as their 'Away' fixture against Toronto is of course being played in the UK.

Finally, in the interests of a fair competition, why are Toronto playing Toulouse (and not Widnes) in the Summer Bash?
Please don't tell me it is to increase the attendance, by playing teams with local rivalry against each other, rather than teams of a similar standing - like favourites vs second favourites.

After all there is only £1.85M of Sky money and a place in SL riding on the outcome of the Championship.

The Summer Bash should be binned, it is patently unfair and distorts the league table. Get rid.

Last season there was the novelty of seeing Toronto, this season some will not want to see their team getting stuffed by Toronto.

Yet there is always the chance of seeing the opposite happen. A few of the 'lesser' Championship teams gave them a scare last season.
