| Quote: CHEADLE LEYTHER "I stand corrected-the virtue of having a reserve team, although I think Fax will miss out the top 4 losing at London and Fev. at home as they lost twice to them at the Shay last season.'"
The Fev result at Fax all depends on how many players Leeds can get fit again, then those not making the first 17 at Headingly can Dual Reg over at Post Office Road.
To be fair to a lot of the Fev fans on another site, they do not like the DR system very much, and would prefer to stand alone.
For mine, it is a system that alows for mediocrity at a club and then rewards them, Fev are doing nothing wrong by the rules utilising this system, but morally it stinks, in a league where points gained puts a team higher up the table and so earns them a bigger "cash prize" for doing so can't be right, and just as bad how can any system allow for players from another club to be allowed to cover for players serving a suspension for being sent off, at any other club who don't happen to be the "recieving" club in a DR agreement who have players sent off quite rightly the club, team and fans suffer for those player's misdeameanors, it doesn't happen under DR, e.g. Fev v Hull, 2 Fev forwards were dismissed for fighting and got suspended, so then they are alowed to bring in 2 Leeds forwards to cover, the system is abhorrent and wants binning.
PS, this is not a go at Featherstone Rovers it is the system that allows it.

HS,
I may disagree with the first statement, but the rest of this is spot on. The sooner DR gets scrapped and eveny team has to run a reserves side the better.
As for the Fev/Fax game in just over a week now I think it will be down to which team handles the preasure better on the day, i.e. least mastakes, least penalties given away, etc. I am far from convinced that brining in Newman for Misi, Walters for Davis, etc. really improves our team and if your lucky enough to find out that we have brough Lilly in for Thacks I suspect you'll be on to a winner.

To be honest its more the Toulouse game Im worried about. Fev are short on numbers and if we can't beat them when we have a fully fit squad and they are short then we really don't deserve to be in the top 4 although I do expect it to be a very tough game. London are in a similar boat as well but we do not seem to travel well which is a worry. Its really hard to gauge any teams form as the bottom 6 have been so poor lately against the top teams as their squads are stretched to the brink.I reckon whoever can get 2nd place can have a decent shot at SL as the lower teams in SL hold nothing to fear for any of the top 6 championship teams. Leigh are probably the only team who could finish 3rd or 4th and still have a good chance.

FevGrinder is absolutely spot on on both counts.
The replacements that Fev have from Leeds are rarely much of an upgrade, if at all, on our current squad. If you asked most Fev fans whether they would rather have, say, Cooper, Davies and Thackeray or Ormondroyd, Walters and Lilley, I'm pretty sure the 3 contracted Fev players would each win the respective vote. It does amuse me a bit that when we first started using DR one of the most frequent comments was that the DR players wouldn't have their heart in it and wouldn't play very well, but nowadays people tell us they're the difference-makers!
That said...like just about every other fan I'd be glad to see DR gone. We (Fev) have probably used it more shrewdly than most, to be fair, but that's not a justification for it to continue.

This is probably true in so much as Fax will never have a better chance of overcoming their Shay hoodoo against us (Fev), Fax are going well and seem very upbeat whereas Fev have lost both starting half backs who were the keys to the early-season success, and although we have two experienced pros filling in the game plan has been stripped right back as they aren't capable of orchestrating the same flowing passing movements we saw when Ridyard and Holmes were playing.
Still, the last time we lost at Fax in the league was 2008 when Graham Holroyd was still playing for them and I've been there plenty of times since then expecting to get turned over and we've won. Think the pressure is on Fax this time as expectations are high and it's very hard to see them making top 4 if they lose, though similar comments apply to Fev. Leigh look in the box seat to qualify from the teams outside the top 2 as even if they lose in Toronto the 4 other teams they have to play are all playing moderately and 32 points will probably be enough.

Big thing about our game is that whoever wins it buys themselves the opportunity to lose another game and still make the top 4. 1 Loss is probably all either team can afford with how the fixtures pan out.

True. Do you know if Fev are getting the North Stand GFB? Always think the atmosphere is better with fans at either end. (apologies to Leigh fans for the off topic post).

Im not sure to be honest although I would doubt it. Id say they would be expecting at the most about 2.5k in which case it would be highly doubtful.
