Rowley quit as our coach just 2 weeks before the 2016 season started, and then 'took the pi55' shortly after by taking the current Leigh players to a Salford home game that was live on Sky, and guess what, the cameras picked it up on them all 'sat in the stands' THEN eventually they sign 10 ex Leigh players, and including (Mr. Morals) their entire coaching team (all 3) are all ex Leigh Centurions.'"
No. I'd suggest the majority of "Leythers" were disappointed for about a week after Rowley quit and then let it go. And they now watch Toronto with great interest in the knowledge that Rowley's Leigh team's produced the most attractive rugby for decades. The Wolfpack is a very interesting business model and they've just announced a few more signings.

A marketing company positioned in a great location offering a product called "rugby league", versus rugby league teams based on heritage who do a bit of marketing. The Wolfpack brand is incredibly robust. Everyone in professional rugby league should be watching what "Toronto" do to generate a buzz and ultimately revenue. They may last 3 years or 30 years, either way - keyword that we've all heard about of late = Disruption. They are disrupting rugby league and it's very interesting to watch how they go about it.

It just shows what can be achieved with some ambition, a clear plan, and the right about of business & commercial acumen. Great for RL.'"
Good luck to Toronto but you missed out the boggest driver to their short term success. MONEY. An almost bottomless pit of cold hard cash.
How much has Perez thrown into this exciting venture?
Also if I win the £115,000,000 jackpot tomorrow, I will be straight on the blower to Derek and you will see Leigh RLFC dominate the sport like the world has never seen before.
At my age I will not be requiring £114,999,000 of it and time really is of the essence if you get my drift

At this point.I would say Perez the entrepreneur is the one that must take all the credit. He's sold an idea to a consortium of very wealthy business people. The buzz as you put it has been created by massive financial backing.
Everyone in professional RL doesn't have that sort of financial backing. Perez knows full well he's selling a new toy in new a town. As for comparing that to the heritage clubs of the game is rediculous. If you put Perez in the M62 corridor tomorrow he would get run over. Why? Because you can't sell stale bread.

| Why should anyone in this country get excited about Toronto playing Rugby League? Just like Catalan, they will not bring fans here every other week so the Grounds here are only going to have 'home' supporters present!
We should be looking at strengthening our 'product' in the Heartlands as, this is the only area where Rugby League is going to survive/ flourish!
They have played RU in Canada for decades so the Oval Ball is not something new to them! Will RL rival RU in Canada? don't know and, really don't care!
By having a 'Transplanted' team of mainly UK full time players, in a lower League and, winning every week represents success, I think some people are deluded.
Someone said they didnt know how long it would last, 3 years or, 30 years? well London are still here after 30 years and, still trying after many failed and Bankrupt attemps!
Of course, there is the Novelty for fans of a trip to Canada to see their team play abroad but, how long will that last?
I throughly enjoyed my visit to Catalan in July however, going back there a few weeks later was neither finacially or, practicably viable! How many of our Fans could afford to go there again should we be involved in the Million Pound Game in Perpignon ? The fact our club could be playing for their SL survival without many of our loyals fans there to support them, just underlines the disadvantages of overseas club Rugby!

Surprised it took someone so long to trot out the away fans argument.
But yeh I totally agree with the rest, scrap huge metropolitan cities like Toulouse, London & Toronto and let's wait for Barrow, Dewsbury, Keighley & Whitehaven to take RL to the next level.

They have money,no ground and the future as with all is bleak. But they all keep ticking over.Leigh to SL investment,KR back to SL investment after a loss.Toronto to league 1 investment. Theres only one investment that could possibly see a return. Are you waiting for the others to follow suit?

Absolutely Harold, my dearest lifelong friend! Good luck with the Euromillions tomorrow. If you win, just pm me for details of my bank account!
P.S. Have I told you that you are my dearest, lifelong friend?

Mr Harold. My name is Prince Obiekwu from Nigeria. I have recently fled my homeland and have $500,000,000 tied up in bank accounts in Nigeria. For me to access these funds I need £115,000,000 to pay the bank charges to release the money. I am prepared to split on a 50% basis with you Mr Harold for your kind assistance in this matter. Please can you send me your bank details and security passwords so I can share the funds in my Nigerian bank accounts. I thank you for your help in this matter. Prince Obiekwu.
