So Murdoch-Massilla would be making a double movement if he continued to try to ground the ball after his elbow was on the floor ?

That one was more like a treble movement.

His elbow didn't hit the floor though? It hit the defender. You could argue that the tackle should've been called as complete because he'd stopped, but he didn't ground the ball short of the line.

But the first time his arm hits the floor is when he grounds the ball.

The important bit is "on the floor", on a player is not the same.

| He momentarily loses control and it hits the Leigh player then he grounds it. The moment it touches the Leigh player it is a knock on. That is my take on the subject.

Are you not seeing what you wanted to see, he was always in control of the ball, the question is about the ball grounded thus a double movement or ball on defender thus a try?
We have had a few interpretations in this thread, the ref has to pick one of them. He does have the advantage of k nowing the rules.
On a slightly different topic, is it time Sky got shut of Cummings, his input has become irritation and he is a distraction?

| Don't think there was a knock on, or double movement. On watching it live, would question how long does a player get to wriggle free and get the ball down before being called as held up, and made to play the ball on the 10.
As for Cummings. Yes, time to go.

Massilla has the ball in his right hand , his left elbow touches the pitch ,' so that's fine , he then try's to ground the ball with his right hand , he doesnt ground it until he uses his left hand ( with his left elbow still on the pitch ) , as soon as his left hand touches the ball the tackle is complete
If a player fumbles a ball while moving forward , never regains control of the ball but then drops it after moving forward 5/6 feet surely he has knocked on from the point he lost control ?

Possibly but I am not sure on that one.
