Although I've cringed and said so at some of DB's comments especially when he very first took over, I don't really see this TV appearance as anything more than two mates having a bit of fun. And if like the weight loss challenge it happens that some charity somewhere along the lines benefits then all well and good.

Glow I agree it you , the last thing I want to happen is Derek to walk, I think the Judge Rinder and weight loss with Marwan are harmless, they have come at a bad time, Derek wears his heart on his sleeve nowt wrong with that and I applaud his investment in the Club, injuries have devastated the Club, and after a Dream start some folk expected to be in the top 8,one even sid the top 4 after the men in white coats recaptured him the Wakey nightmare game arrived,this wasn't anybodies fault,let hope we can ride the Storm till the middle 8s arrive, I have faith. The only thing i see is a guy who had the vision and cash to return Leigh to SL for the first time in 12 years. Whether you like Derek as a person or not im sure he doesnt care but the one thing he should get his respect for putting your towns team back in with the big boys.

Maybe as an owner of a club and business, highlighting raising cash for charity brings more cash for said charity? Where as you putting what ever in a charity box brings nothing to the said charity in terms of extra input?

Now why dont you tell us all who you are and then we can debate as Mish says in a none controlled manner..

Andy will be the first to admit he didn't get the group together Keith, at the time nobody was willing to take ownership and give some direction after the players hadn't been paid. Interested parties met, financial commitments given and aspects of the clubs running allocated. Derek paid the players wages and we just about got the winding up order sorted, thanks to Michael, John and Derek.

It was the platform that got the club moving again and ignited the dream inside the one willing and able to dig deep to realise it. You need serious cash to be successful as a small town club to get to the top table today, the relatively small amounts we put in would not get us there but
keeping the club breathing and then to move it forward off the pitch is something Andy, myself and others no longer involved are probably extremely proud to have been a part of.

I'm only speculating, but I'm sure there is a commercial pay-off for AB and any other DB companies with Leigh being in Super League - I'm sure this was in the business plan. And that's a good thing if both can sustain each other commercially. Personally I think Derek has done a great job and this current injury crisis is really sad to witness as the whole team from top to bottom deserve more. Maybe we'll have a good run of form going into the last third of the season and into the 8s. To replicate that ebullient optimism from the 8s last season, bang the first half of the Huddersfield game on, what a 40 minutes that was, and on paper the squad wasn't as good as this year. Absolutely superb!
