Derek how dare you question the Wisdom of someone like GFB the Sage of Fax ,as you rightly say BIG things were predicted after their first game win agains Haven, and how they crowed with delight at our first game defeat at Batley,and that Super pack, containing Tangata, Calahane, Ambler, and Grix  I admit they have talent, as they were invisible at the LSV ,and none of them would get into our Squad.BUT I do like Fax and sincerely want them to get into the top 4, nowt like a visit to the Shay.I've not seen you for a while, hope to see you soon.Ian.

Agreed. But that potentially 6th placed team were going great guns and were probably the 'form' team in our league, at that time. Unfortunately we can only play what's in front of us, and we'll have to wait a short while to see how well equipped we are to deal with some very demanding games.
However, in my mind, we are much better equipped, both physically and mentally to deal with that challenge this year. Will that be good enough? Who knows, we'll have to wait and see - and try to enjoy it! |

The way I see it:-
Matty Ashurst (Player not good enough for SL who Saints fans could not believe they managed to get a fee for)
Greg Worthington (Very good player at this level, would not get in any SL team)
Lee Smith (Loads of medals, way past his best and looked very average in a poor Wakey team)
Mitch Brown (Dont know much about him to be honest so would be unfair to comment)
Its not a case of whether your backs are better or worst than last years, It could come down to if they are better than 4 SL teams and in my opinion they are nowhere near. Despite what people may think, I would love it if Leigh managed to get promoted because it gives all Championship clubs hope but I fully expect Fax to be playing Leigh again next season.

Which Championship team would not be jealous of Leigh at the moment? As for hurting, anyone who knows me will know that Im gutted about not making the top 4. Again who wouldnt be, I remember our games with Leeds with great fondness and the chance to play them again was one that I were wanting to happen. |

Ive just posted elsewhere regarding the 8's saying Leigh are our best chance but I think the SL teams look to have a lot more talent however, it will boil down to a one off game and you just never know as Championship teams have proved in the challenge cup over recent seasons.
