'Hi-Ho Silver Lining'

| Last season we had Brierleys & McNallys pace along with an eye for backing up at the right time and getting a try when nothing looked on.
One has left and the other is injured so we are missing some speedsters as for me they haven't been replaced as the players coming in have different styles and attributes to contribute to the team.
That wouldn't be an issue as we also had Kay and Pownall with pace to burn but Kay has lost a yard (looks to be playing with an injury - but slowly getting his speed back)and Pownall out on loan.
For me it was an area that stood out as needing improving today as using one example in Hocks interception I reckon last season would have resulted in a 6 pointer so if we have something to get/improve before the 8's then that's it for me as pace is essential.
Defence out wide is still inconsistent and I'd say it needs working on.
They say a sign of a decent team is winning when not playing to its full potential, today we won and Bradford probably wondered how.
Lots of improvement in this team to come but equally lets address our shortfalls in the next 3 games and ensure when the main part of the season starts we are covered on all bases.
Just as a final point, the lads deserve huge credit for digging out a win today, certainly don't know when they are beaten and that spirit can't be bought.

[quote="Steve":1xb0p6sn] Dislike Leigh with a passion, but they are a million miles ahead of any other club in this league, a sad fact. [/quote:1xb0p6sn]:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_24148.jpg |

| Just watching the highlights now and our final try came as the result of a brilliant set of 6.
Bradford's kick went dead for a 20m restart and in 6 tackles we marched them 80 meters up the field for Reni to go over on the last with the winner!

Yep London/barley at home are other examples - step it up when we need to, but we need to be like that for pretty much the full 80 in the middle 8s to have a sniff

Drinkwater delivers try scoring passes and Burns too can do the same, how many times were players held up on the line from Burns passes? that's not his fault! I hope we can introduce a fit Willie Tonga soon because he would get the ball down where Armstrong et al are failing!
Our bench wasn't imposing enough yesterday, Spencer would play before Fash for me, bigger and more powerful player!
McNally,Tonga and Acton will improve our squad when they are included.

| With you on the bench today. Fash is a great kid but lacks size, Hull see a lot in him but it cant be at prop, I look at him and think Cunningham type Hooker. I would have gone Spencer today also and when we have Acton back that pack will be as good as anything we will face, with Moimoi and Acton causing bedlam down the middle. We do lack pace and we have very few options out wide without Tonga but I do believe he is fit now but when do we throw him in? I also expect to see a back join us before the deadline.

| Drinkwater was more than ok. 3 tries off his passes: say no more. Let's give Bradford some credit: their goal line defence was pretty impressive in the second half. They didn't just hold Armstrong up but Patterson and Fui too.
