| I attended the game today and thought Leigh were average at best for around 65 minutes of the game,Batley played well today but remember they had Lee Mitchell at Stand Off,we could have lost against a decent half back pairing,we haven't played well since the Wakey cup game.As for Hock and Acton?Hock was first sin binned for dissent it could have happened to any of our players as the Ref had put the Leigh team on a warning. The fight had Leigh standing up for themselves , Acton cleaned out the Batley player,I'm a Gaz Hock fan but felt the Ref had no alternative but sin bin him again.I think we have better forwards than Acton, but that's just my opinion.
I think we missed Brierley today plenty have been calling for Reynolds to be given a chance , myself included but I felt he had a quiet game, I don't know if he got injured as Bob B played at half back later.
I'm not a fan of the Bull frogs never have been , but I thought they played well today, still we won, but we will have to improve considerably in the next 2 weeks.

I recently sold a Tim Street tshirt on eBay and it was bought by someone from Wigan. Clearly he's a player who transcends club loyalties. True story.
OOOH AHH TIMMY STREET....

| Quote: salfordlad "Seems to me every time we play a side from Yorkshire trouble always starts when the Yorkie side knows they are going to get beat.
Their fans ie Yorky fans all back the Yorky side whenever the Yorky side kicks off trouble.
They only ever agree with fans of their own county irrespective of them not seeing the game.
Disciplinary panel reviews the game and invariably it's the Yorkshire team players who start the trouble because of course they do receive the heavier punishments.
We are the only Lancashire side in the Championship' we have lost in two seasons to only two Yorky sides and one of them was Leeds.
Most of us Leythers are totally unbiased' so we are used to it and never say anything.'"
That was a very funny post. Well done
Have you got anymore

| One day they'll learn,if you actually decide to play RL, you'll actually have a chance of beating us.

| Hocks first yellow was deserved. Messing about in the ruck with a ref who allowed us nothing, then gobbing off when the inevitable penalty was given.
The second was a disgrace. Punched by at least 2 Batley players and threw none himself. Got a card for being Gaz Hock!
Acton gets on my nerves. Had a run of games where he was one of our top performers. But today you could see the explosion coming a mile off. Shouldn't be near the first team until he learns to control his aggression at least a little.

I agree the ref had a shocker. Some of the pens he gave were ridiculous and there was no consistency in controlling the play the ball.
That said, Acton is a liability and was looking for a fight. For what he's contributing at the moment it's not worth the risk of playing him

| I think Acton is being a bit hard done to here. In my view it was a deserved red. However I think he was sent on because it was going to kick off, and his job is to protect the team. He didn't throw first. He left the scrum to join the defence as normal, then went back to help Higham who was involved in a 2 on 1.

| A rugby field without protection is a dangerous place, especially for those believing the incompetent third grade whistle blower will police it. We need to sort this once and for all because the WF post codes have caused no end of problems in recent weeks.
We started the season playing fast free flowing RL but it soon became apparent teams could not beat us by trying to be better than us - and our stupid head patting etc was an excuse to drag the games down a few levels to even things up, encouraged by poor officials.
We have a responsibility to get back to what we do best and cut out the silly stuff, but we can only do that with strong officials who allow the game to be played to the rules with a clean ptb and pace on the game. If we get this then the problems go away overnight imo

| I agree about some of the officials but 'cutting out the silly stuff' should happen irrespective of the quality of the officials.

| A few negatives from the game but nothing much. Hock deserved his 1st sin binning, messing about in the tackle, hit the player then had a go at the ref, all just stupid and unnecessary. His 2nd was for being set upon by 2 Batley players was absurd & pretty much summed up the refereeing performance; didn't know you could be onside while stood directly in front of the ref! I Still don't see what Hock does better than any of our other props though. The fight well, Yorkshire team goes behind in a game where the ref had no control, the same thing happens every time that situation arises. Funny how there's been no trouble at any of the London games where London have just wanted to play rugby, or the Haven game where the ref stamped out all the slow messing about tackles from Haven right from the start, odd that.
Still a few small negatives a lot of big positives for me. At Mount Pleasant in the pouring rain with a 5 m offside we're not going to be able to play our usual style so we took our chances when they came and defended spectacularly. Try line defence has been a problem last few games, get within 10 m & teams were going over, to keep Batley out the amount of possession they had right on our try line that 1st half was brilliant. Bob Beswick was brilliant playing pretty much the whole 80 both as hooker and at half back showed how skilful and fit he is. Finally back to the LSV next week, so much space to play with on a flat properly drained surface, can't wait.
