I am absolutely blown away at that come back. I can honestly say that I never gave up believing that we were still in with a shout,
..... but to come back from the half time score and then come back again after the heart break of Ryan's disallowed try and Wakey's score straight after was more than anyone could have expected.
What a team
I was there (I even got on tele' about 5 times) and by the end I was knackered. I was also covered in ale, too, and I don't even drink!
Well worth it though!

| What a atmosphere in that shed on the West stand in the second half!
One of those 'do you remember when we played Wakefied in the cup' moments that people will remember for years to come.
1st half we tried to force the pass and in all honesty you can't gift that possession away, the other factor was Wakefield played some good stuff with the possession they gained and didn't look like a team who had lost so many on the bounce.
2nd Half we upped the tempo and played the kind of RL that gets people interested in the sport again, thought Brierleys chalk off try for offside was incredibly tight (especially if you looked at it in line) but realistically what a fantastic effort especially when you factor that Hock and Acton got injured so the bench couldn't rotate as well as we'd have liked.
Hopkins put in the best 40 minutes I've ever seen him have in a Leigh shirt but Brierley and Ridyard showed the advantage of a good half back pairing as they controlled the game ably assisted by Bob Beswick who just gets better with each game.
The wingers always looked a threat with Pownall clearly upsetting Wakefield judging by the amount of shots he took and how good was Kays footwork on the wing for Oli's try - a real class move.
In fact everyone did what was required in the second half and I include us, a big vocal backing at 24-6 down was just what the lads needed (and got).
A cracking day out with the Wakefield club very welcoming hosts.
In terms of the cup its now all roads lead to Warrington and what I'd wager will be our biggest away following for many a year but before that its time to renew our usual rivalries starting with a tough mouth watering game v Fev in Blackpool.
Can't wait!

| Quote: mish "I was totally embarrassed by that first half performance; I thought our lads looked like part timers who were totally out of their depth, however......that second half was amazing. They played like we all know they can play and totally outclassed Wakey. This team never fails to impress me - their will to win and never-give-up attitude is breathtaking at times.
Take a bow Leigh Centurions.
Almost entirely my view also, I posted a similar thing on a none Rugby forum earlier.
I watched the match at home after my 11 hour late shift & didn't get to bed until 2.40 a.m.
I wanted to shout at & punch the TV, but the missus & 3 year old wouldn't have been happy.
2nd half was the polar opposite, could have raised the roof in sheer joy at the fantastic skill & speed of play the Centurions showed, they just could not live with us & crumbled.
Having had a look on the Wakefield boards today, I have to say I feel for them, they seem a good bunch & are as passionate about Wakey as we are about Leigh, they are really suffering & not just because of the CC result either. Hope their Club can turn the ship around.
Well done to all Leigh fans who travelled too, outnumbered & out sang the home fans.
Best support in Rugby Land.
