| If we did go up then don't expect a 'settled' day - each week will be dictated by which day we're playing the following week as is the general trend in SL at the moment.

are you sure we only got 2000 on against Fev when we lifted the trophy?

Therefore I stand corrected Ste.
However it shows you can play with all stats and figures to suit an argument. The cup game was all pay bear in mind, when people will argue the cup is not very well supported but stacks up very nicely in favour of Sunday's vs Friday nights
And last season's Friday night attendance of less than 1,000 would still be considerably the lowest seen at Leigh for a first team match in how long?

| Worth mentioning that it wasn't a Leigh home game against St Pat's

| Quote: Tipster Ste "Didnt a Friday night game attarct the biggest league crowd of the season in 2014?
Gives the club a chance to test a different day/time with both general crowd and corporate.
Gives the players 10 days rest for the next battle inour promotionquest, i suspect thats were player welfare comes in.
Looking forward to a Friday night under the floodlights...'"
Fully understand that Ste.
However, the other side of that coin is that the players only get four full days' rest between the Featherstone trip and the London cup tie - and I wouldn't mind betting that the Fev game will be one of the most physical matches we face, this season.

That is an incredibly good point Matt, and i have to say was a slight oversight on my part ùntil it wax pointed out by your good self. However as it was on our home ground I am still claiming it towards my reasoning ha ha.

I agree totally with what your saying. TV plays a big part in SL and it's not a trend..It's down to TV scheduled programming..We are not in that position as of yet.So why take it to a Friday night?
Its a bad call, for a club who are promoting attendance in my eyes.
But i'll be there Friday. And FEV Sunday.

And we also have half a dozen first grade players not getting a game at present!

One of the factors to be dealt with when building a large squad.

London will also only have four days rest and a long coach journey up the M6.

| The decision has been made, and like a lot of fans have said some you win some you lose. I personally was heading for a Sportsmans Dinner in Atherton for Atherton LR, I rang to cancel my ticket, they have had two tables cancelled already, oh dear.
Player welfare would seem to be one point not considered seriously, two of the toughest games in the programme, Featherstone Away and London in the Cup - and only four days in between.........if anyone else has made a similar point, sorry.

Yes.
I was merely making the point that the Friday may be good for our players' welfare between the London and Whitehaven games, but maybe not quite so good between the Featherstone and London games.
Perhaps it may have been best just to say that the decision was taken so that the lads could have a well-earned weekend off with their families? None of us would begrudge them that.

There are more than 5 days between the end of the Fev game and start of the Broncos game. Fwiw I personally prefer Sunday games.
