| My honest opinion is young Ryan is not ready for Super League. I think he is a couple of seasons off from that level so I dont think he is receiving good advice from the people around him either.
He has an eye for a gap, good pace and is able to support a break. A real poacher.
What he is not able to do as much as he should is control a game, dictate play and move us round the park consistently enough and has a tendency to go missing for large spells of a match, especially in the top games.Bare in mind good coaches whos job it is to spot potential in their clubs youngsters and secure it like Matterson and Milward were comfortable making a decision to move him on from Castleford.
He still needs to demonstrate he is a scrum half currently at the top of his game and able to make the transition from the championship to a top SL 7 and to do that , my view is he needs another year or two learning his craft in the championship. It is no good signing for Leeds and then being loaned out to Hunslet for the remainder of his contract.
It is time for the people around him to tell the young lad to knuckle down, honour the contract he signed with Leigh and turn himself into the top player we all know he can develop in to two years down the line.

| What's the score with this kid? There has been rumours of SL clubs and big ones at that being turned down by Leigh or the player for the best part of two years now. No disrespect to Leigh or the Championship, but it can't be money that's keeping him at Leigh. Most SL clubs could pay off his entire contract, Leeds certainly could. He could probably quadruple his pay. Yet publicly he's never moaned once that I've seen.
What's going on with your finances these days? Are you heavily backed these days or under some form of fan-run consortium as was muted when you were going through the mire a few years back? I'm just struggling to see how any Championship club could turn down a reasonable offer from anyone these days?

So your saying Leeds could and would pay him £240k to £300k a year, excuse the bluntness but that's b0llocks

They are not letting him join Leeds and he's not happy with it. He wants the move and to progress his future. An article regarding this will be in the evening post this week.'"
Absolutely rubbish, ryan hasn't asked for any transfer. The policy has and always will remain the same if a player wants to leave Leigh for a big club we won't stand in anybody's way and we will get the bet deal for Leigh.
Somebody at the Yorkshire post needs to start writing Enid Blyton stories!

I think the score with him is exactly that.
He's too nice a lad to publicly bite the hand thats feeding him. My gut feeling is that he will have been told by a member of the board that even if a mega offer came in for him that it would be rejected. The same as the fans are told everytime this comes up at a fans forum. I think that his situation will be revieweed in November next year, if we're in Super League he'll be offered a mega deal with us and if we come up short he will be off to Salford. The Leeds interest will only improve his deal offered by Salford, he must be licking his lips waiting for it.
He always gives 110% and works tirelessly in the community, he's the perfect role model as far as Leigh are concerned and whatever happens he'll go with the backing of atleast 90% of Leigh fans.

Your cap is an absolute maximum of £400k isn't it? And you are paying just under 1/5th of that to 1 player when you need a squad of 24 ish and have the best squad in the comp including a few ex-SL players? Might explain why he's not been in a rush to move, but perhaps we need to send the auditors in to find the second set of books at Leigh

| Doubt Ryan is going anywhere; he's signed up at Leigh, seems to be enjoying his time at Leigh, developing and improving all the time at Leigh & has a pathway into Super League at Leigh. Why would he go to another club to either be sent out on dual code or end up playing Leigh in the Qualifier Super 8? He's definitely going nowhere though if Leeds are approaching him directly like they did with Sam Barlow, presume Ryan will have told Leigh he was contacted and been told “Well we don’t do business like that.” and someone has turned that into a “Leigh turn down transfer request!” non- story. I'm not worried he's leaving or even wants to.

| We can only speculate regarding Ryan and his future, but the facts seem to be he scored 36 Try's last season in the league, he attracted significant media attention, he had a good game v Leeds after a shaky start, he had a great GF, he has terrifying pace, he has a great game awareness, he is quickly developing his passing and kicking game, he is a great lad who is down to earth and fits in well here.
Now the above will attract interest from those higher up the food chain but Ryan is on contract and imo the club would not want to lose a key halfback this close to such a critical season, so will not want to lose him now.
Ryan will have ambition to play SL, that could be with Leigh in 2016 so lets do our best to give our team such a lift from the terraces that we put ourselves in a great position to see Ryan pulling on a Leigh shirt in SL 2016 - we need to fill those stands and show this town wants a SL club.
