| Surely the stewards should be taking action by evicting the perpetrators from the stadium. These people have committed to adhere to the rules the moment they bought a ticket. Throwing them out will eliminate the problem straight away. Come on LSV apply the rules of the contract.

That's never going to happen, you'd be chucking out most of the home and away support for swearing. I trust on this basis you have never swore inside a stadium.
Plus more than likely the people would not return, hardly something the club can afford

| Anyone would think we have a big problem with obscene chanting at the LSV.
We don't imo and ok you might not like the flute song or songs about Jimmy Saville but because some fans do I hardly think the stewards should be ejecting people for singing songs intended to build atmosphere.
Seems to me some would prefer the Leigh team to play in a morgue.
Live and let live.

As the little girl tells us at nearly every game home and away "Rugby League is a Family Game ", but I don't think you will ever stop swearing at games , after all WHO is going to point the finger at the Culprits ?And if everyone is ejected there would be a Big Gap in the North Stand .I don't swear or sing , and don't go in the North Stand , but know many who do .

| Two of my grandaughters come to Leigh games one has just turned 9 and the other is four and they go in the West stand with their old granny.
They really enjoy the singing and atmosphere created by the North stand.
A niece and her husband sat in the West stand for their first Leigh game and moved into the North stand next time they came and told me it was for the better atmosphere.

| I personally don't think people should be ejected for singing the flute song and unless anyone is being out of order then swearing is a given in today's society. I am probably the worst when not in the company of older people and kids. I really dislike swearing enmasse though and it really does make us look stupid when it's done. I also believe that rugby fans are a better quality of fan but when we sing rubbish we sound just like the thugs at a football match.

They may not be a rival on the pitch at the moment but that doesn't stop other teams so why should we have to stop!'"
Wigan might be the sworn enemy for many but they aren't our rivals and haven't been for a long time. When we play Wigan in a competitive match then sing as many 'anti-Wigan' songs you can think of but it sounds quite ridiculous to sing about Wigan when they're not even on the pitch.
As I said before, I love the Flute song tune but those words just make me feel embarrassed for those singing it.

Have to disagree, most sports teams will sing songs about their rivals whether they are playing them that day or not

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity
Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike
SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!:9005.jpg |

Just because other people do stupid things doesnt make it right, unless of course you consider yourself stupid as well
' En masse ' swearing and singing about sexual abusers IS stupid, time we stopped, we should consider ourselves better than that if we wish to progress as a club

| Give me an example of en masse swearing at the LSV ?
When I first heard the Saville song like a lot of others I laughfed. When I was leaving Headingley after the Leeds game several of their fans complemented the Leigh side on our performance and quite a few said they thought the Saville song was very funny in the circumstances.
Guess some are more touchy than others and' some like making mountains out of molehills.

" f ukc Wigan rugby and the IRA '
I remember some parts of the IRA getting upset with the police foiling their plans to blow up some gas containers in Warrington, 2 little boys paid with their lives as I recalled
Maybe just change it to Widnes and al qaeda, it is just as relevant
I look forward to hearing our chant on Sunday, " Cyril Smith, he's one of your own, " shame we dont play Oldham " Ian Brady, hes one of your own " , I hope to see you joining in at our next match against Australia " Rolf Harris, he's one of your own " , maybe next time the Aussie schoolboys play at the LSV?

I think most people know that and know what Jimmy Saville was.
My grandaughters would not have a clue. But to imply when that Saville song is sung means everyone born or who lives in Yorkshire is as objectionable as him needs to get a sense of humour and a reality check.
Every ground we go to over the pennines we endure the Yorkshire Yorkshire chant.
It is a few words which are humerous to a lot but for some not. Life and humour like everything else does not appeal to all. I don't like celery.

Of course I remember too but think you should read my last post and btw when I join in with the flute song I sing stuff Wigan rugby and the IRA.
Lets deal with the swearing issue. Men swear when in male company. Some swear in female company. Have you ever been in a venue when there is a hen party ? Have you listened to kids playing in the street ?
The thought to equate the flute song with the numerous deaths of innocent human beings by idiots assosciated with terrorism is bloody silly quite frankly.
