Lynda

As Steve Openshaw explained earlier in the thread we chose to take small steps but do them right rather than look to make huge strides and ultimately fail.

The first two blocks of the West Stand (the north west corner of the ground) have been set aside for junior centurions and community clubs. It totals around 400 seats and we want to fill them all week in week out before we expand beyond this point.

As Steve states we met with Sharon Dillon and John Duffy - and particularly when the weather gets better we'd like to see the younger element of our support in that area of the stadium with Parky, the cheerleaders etc and create something vibrant and entertaining for them. We've already invested time and money in music, dancers, flags, JC membership packs and FREE UNDER 16'S SEASON TICKETS!!!

Let's walk before we run and build something solid and sustainable which can be improved and updated as we progress as a club eh.

Cheers

Andy

So why when we did the Braidon Lee fun day did we not open the East or South stands then???

I've no doubt as a favour or one off LSV would help but as a week in week out scenario LSV would incur costs and would need to charge Leigh Centurions for opening the additional stand and costs are fixed and agreed up front.

It does not make sense financially or logistically at the current time but like Steve intimated above once we are filling out the section we have allocated we shall of-course review things.

When we are playing SL in two years time we shall be averaging 4/5k min and it won't be a problem.

----Following Leigh Centurions in the Championship until the day I die. I don't beLEIGHve.----:

I think we just need to leave the people that are running the club to do just that instead of questioning them over things like this. We can see they are making progress, the figures arent lying, plus it makes for awkward reading on here seeing the board answering questions about the running if the club from people that do fundraising on a regular basis.

This. We can't fill the stands we have open now so there's little point in chucking cash at opening another one or two. A well advertised family section in the West Stand would be a great addition though.

Post of the Year Jimmy, the voice of reason ha ha

While I don't mind answering questions from anyone we do have a strategy and have strict budgets which are policed by Mike our Finance Director so people can rest assured what we do is done for a reason has logic applied to it and is in the best interests of Leigh Centurions RL Club the club we all love.

When we are filling the two sides we currently pay for we can start worrying about the other two icon_biggrin.gif

Just seems expensive what they quoted you Andy when Simon Toon said they cold use a section of it for no cost a couple of year ago .
This isn't a dig at the club btw just seems a large sum of money that
Surely the stewarding cost would be low not much chance of trouble tec .

Our strategy has been outlined earlier by Steve and we've told people what we are doing, if successful in the West Stand and crowds increase the way we feel they will we will review in due course but no real mileage in opening another stand when historically we have not yet been able to fill the current two we have.

It's simply not worth doing or viable at present when we have empty sections of the stands we are already paying for Keith and makes absolutely no sense.

We need to walk before we run and we are doing just that mate.

We can hold 6-7000 or so in the parts that are open, I would rather see any extra costs in the bank account for a late season signing if required or as a players lash fund if they win it

Let's let the people currently running the club get on with it as they have already in nine months or so whatever it is since they took over shown more initiative and drive in taking this club to a whole new professional level. With all due respect to Dick if your running LISA which I believe you are that is an organisation that needs a facelift and work doing at it to get back to the former glories of its early days and I'd suggest looking at ways to improve that organisation rather than worrying about what the guys running the club are doing.

Not meant as a criticism but LISA has never had a better opportunity to ride on the back of the new boards ambition and success and to increase it's membership riding on the back of the return of P&R and the best team we've had for years on and off the pitch.

Every other aspect of the club seems to have a growth plan and clear strategy and demonstrating a go forward positive attitude from the new directors massively improved relationships with the RFL & LSV to Robs commercial and sponsorship successes, LCTV, retail and lottery etc.

What is LISA doing to increase membership? and grow its revenue and income streams? A boxing night was muted on here how's the planing going? Any other events planned?? When's the next meeting???

When and were are leaflets, membership forms being distributed how is data being captured and advertising being done etc??

Who sets your meeting agendas and does your meeting minutes and follows up actions??

Not having a go like I say above but the time spent on here could be better used maybe working on the area under your control rather than worrying about what doesn't really concern you.

Think it would be madness for the club to incur huge costs to put less than 400 kids in an empty stand on the other side of the ground to everyone else. Even if it was free I still wouldn't do it, need to make the kids feel involved rather than just dumped away from everyone else. Much better where they are, it's a brilliant idea to have an area for them right in the mix of it all where they are.

As a partner , I'm sure when we attend our first meeting with the club, I' can bring this up and ask how for their help and input with this . I'm sure Andy will be one of the first to help us being such a great guy .
