Devils hollow was at the far end of the park close to the old railway and Staffords farm. My dad used to tell us it was an old ventilation/escape shaft for the pit.

Lucky Hollow was near Lilford but a bit closer to our street pal, used to get to it through the trees in the back right corner of the field and was on the way to Lilford from there

Good fishing pond was the Lucky Hollow. On another note does anyone exactly know how deep the Delph was?

I learned to scuba dive in Eccleston delph and I think it varied in most parts 3 - 15 metres but the sink was the deepest point where the water fed from underground was over 20 metres

Woopse, mental note always check for typos before slagging anyone off. icon_eek.gif Maybe I was a tad harsh but it has been annoying me, every other press release from Featherstone talking about their "fantastic facilities", if Post Office Road is fantastic there is no superlative good enough to describe the LSV. Featherstone have a lot to be proud of and to boast about, their quality on the pitch is obvious, the passion and support of their fans is clear to see and I've only heard good things about their community links; but to try to describe Post Office road as some amazing quality stadium is daft. Much rather hear about what's being done to fix it up, when's the new stand due to be finished and what's happening after that to actually turn it into the fantastic facility it could be? As for Hilton Park being just as bad, well yes but that's why we moved to the LSV.

Don't agree mate even though we all loved Hilton Park, I think POR isn't a bad ground to be fair as older grounds go.

In my room Mo I have a big framed memorial of Hilton Park with some LCRLFC History on it. It sits in pride of place and educates everyone in Southampton that dares set foot in our house about the joys of Leigh RL. I got it from my Grandma for Christmas. It is suitable for public display unlike what you bought for christmas for my Grandma icon_eek.gif icon_moon.gif icon_ass.gif icon_eek.gif

I have probably the same one on the wall on my staircase .
It was no palace but it was our home Lsv were merely tenants IMHO no matter how good the LSV are with us !!!
However it's great to see some better conditions but I'd rather have the toilets at HP for one, at least they had a seat !!!!!

As fondly as I look back on our days at HP our unique relationship with our strategic partners LSV offers us as a business and club state of the art facilities at fixed and very affordable costs. It also means we are no longer wasting dead money on reactive and routine maintenance, constant repairs and improvements and trying to keep secure against vandals and robbers and means we can set a strict business's plan with no hidden surprises.

While Fev are working really hard to get POR up to some kind of a standard you get the feeling they are rubbing really hard on the proverbial turd.

The main reason we have an advantage over all our competitors in this division and most of SL going into the middle eight next year is the fact we are not hamstrung by a dodgy old ground and have what we have.

We would not be able to move forward in the way we plan to without. LSV and it's important our fans understand this.

Andy
