Anthony Bate is innocent. The ref missed the start of the incident which sparked the fisticuffs.

I still can't understand why the placid Ste Maden was red carded in the NRC Final.

Biff is part of the game, being it back the fans love it. You rarely see the NRL red carding brawls just our bump ties who are under instruction

Might have a couple missing. I saw a couple of Leigh players get stuck in but didn't have the best view. So actually missed what Bate and Heaton did. Who flopped on Brierley? 1 in all in is creeping back into the game, good or bad? Shows an element of team spirit and togetherness but in the longer run can prove costly.

Last night's could have been avoided.

Teams pick on Mcnally and now Brierley, time refs stopped it as this is what happened when the ref ignores it

How do you know that the ref ignored it? If they do nowt they are criticised and if they blow up for everything they get criticised. One thing they don't do is throw a punch.

I think most fans like a bit of aggro but don't like it when it is their team that is punished or their players who get hurt.

In another post somewhere on here young Bate has been given the tag 'The Raging Bulll', that is like putting a target on his head.

I think the game would have been even better last night if the ref had just yellow carded a couple of the players instead of red. Yeah it was an all in brawl but it was pretty much handbags and nothing as bad as the NRC final went on with people giving as good as they got. I mean Rettie and Ashall could be swinging from where we were sat but nothing like an on the ground assault. A cooling down for the players would have probably made the game even more exciting, its a tough contact sport and there will be fights but as long as we dont see things like 3 guys holding someone on the floor and paggering him than I think they should be a bit more lenient.

I have but Im not sure what that has to do with what I posted. Im not sure he mentioned anything about the fight in the NRC final.

I see he made comments with regard to Higsons tackling technique and the number of our players playing on his side that had head injuries. No matter how much I re-read what I posted I cant see any reference to that, apart from thinking the red cards were a bit harsh, hence why I wouldnt mind watching the brawl again, the only things I would complain about in regards to the ref was the blatent knock on by Penky leading to your first try(final pass looked way forward as well) and the offside situation although I would add that i really dont think it had much bearing on the game and Halifax had easily enough ball to win that game over and over given how much ball we had but once again our lack of prowess with the ball showed up in a big game. It is ok steam rolling crap teams and putting points on them but against a team that can muscle up a bit we cant break them down.

Edit: Just re-read Harrisons piece and saw the bit about our player been assaulted by 3 players and cant say that I saw that I my reference was to the brawl in the NRC final where I thought the sendings off were justified but wernt sure they were last night hence why I thought 2 yellows would have been fair.

I read Harrisons interview and basically the main bits that stand out as a Fax fan is him maybe admiting he made some very questionable signings. All our halfs have a slow pass so where did he think our zip was coming from. We knew that at the end of last season and although Murrell is class(although out of sorts at the moment but he is allowed a quiet game) the other key positions in our team we are very very average. IMO we have the best pack and maybe the best backs in the league, maybe Sheffield excepted, but we have a very poor 6,7,9 which has stood out like a sore thumb in the big games this season ie. Batley away, Leigh Away, Fev twice, Sheffield twice and Dewsbury away in the cup.

The ref missed that many knock on,s I thought the RFL had brought a new rule into play lol He had a pretty poor game all round did Gareth he seemed to be struggling a bit might have been not feeling too good

I'm not in favour of certain players being shielded by the ref because they are talented and get a bit more rough treatment. As long as its not of the standard of Terry Newtons on Sean Long then it's part of the game. Where off the ball hits or skull diggery missed by the ref is concerned then the RFL get a copy of the game they should pick the rubbish out and deal with offences missed. Don't agree with this report stuff and if the ref didn't put it on report we can't do anything. Get it bloody sorted RFL.

What I read was just a load of sour grapes It's typical of 'Rhino' after a loss.

If he is not kicking water bottles into the crowd after a defeat, He is moaning about something, predictably tackling. After each loss against Featherstone he usually bemoans their tacking technique, even comparing it to American wrestling.

Now He gets turned over by Leigh he moans about young Adam Higson's tackling technique stuck out on on the wing.

Its pretty poor stuff.

He would not have lasted one week in the 1950's and if He was in that era, He would not have his nickname.
