What do Ron and Reg think?

Bleedin' soft headed numpties the lot of you. [sizeAt least I'm a true Leyther with principles[/size not a Plastic Wigginer. Enjoy your street parties Wigginers!!!'"
Previously (maybe on different medication?)......
Quote: WYSIWYG "Leigh and Swinton both playing at the LSV. Swinton made up of mostly ex Leigh players. Why don't the clubs pool their resources and form a Manchester Rugby League club. We are both in Greater Manchester. Leigh and Swinton are never going to get into SDL, they are just slowly dying. They are never going to attract investment except from bucket collections and raffles.
A club with the name Manchester eg Manchester Miners or Manchester Marauders would get major investment and walk into SDL.
Rebrand and pool resources. You have to change to survive. [sizeI prepare to be shot down.[/size'"
Ready.....aim......

| I don't appreciate being described as a plastic wigginer, I was born in Leigh, raised in Leigh, I have also had the luxury of having parents who weren't related, a pity that you didn't, perhaps you just might not have turned out to be more bitter than a lemon or more twisted than DNA...
I don't like Leeds or Huddersfield, but I was still pleased that Huddersfield beat Leeds the same way I was pleased Wigan beat City, I like the underdog winning, most NORMAL people do.

I'm with you LC.
Great game at Hudds yesterday, then watched Pointless Celebrities and Dr Who!
If they were playing the soccerball cup final on my front lawn I'd draw the curtains.
And for me it's a disaster that Wiggin won - I have to go to wiggin 3 times a week and I'll now have to put up with endless crowing from loads of Wigginers who'd never been near Latics until 6/7 years ago when they got into the Prem

| Quote: WYSIWYG "I can't believe this is the LEIGH MB!!! Why don't you get the street parties started for your Wiggin football club. You may as well because they have taken Leigh Rugby Club over. I can't believe you lot. I have watched Leigh RL for 51 years and for me this game is tribal. I hate WIggin and I will never set foot in the Wiggin Sports Village again until this ridiculous partnership is null and void. I would rather support a team of Leigh amateurs who have nothing at all to do with Wiggin. You lot really should be ashamed of yourselves. You remind me of the collaborators in France. You welcome Wiggin with open arms just because they have given little Leigh a lifeline. You aren't Leythers!!! You are all Plastic Wigginers. Anyway, I will leave you lot to your street parties and your pie kebabs. Enjoy the tour of Wiggin parading the FA CUP cos it will be paraded through Le*** I mean Wiggin. Shame on the lot of you pie eaters!!!!'"
Hi Graham, an interesting post , I went to Wembly yesterday to witness history being made, I and my sons had a very good day in the company of a great set of people, a surprising amount of who share a similar ' dislike ' of Wigan RL as you and me
I first attended Springfield Park over 30 years ago as a teenager Springfield Park being not disimilar to Hilton Park in layout ( but not as salubrious )
Yesterday was Wigan Athletics ' Wembly 71,Whitehaven 82 ' all rolled into 1 and to deny them and their fans/players/coach and owner a truly most wonderful achievement is unfair
It also should inspire the like of Leigh Centurions to truly believe what can be achieved if people are willing to put in place plans to improve the club
30 odd years ago with another 6/7,000 watching non league Wigan Athletic knock 3 rd division Shrewsbury Town out of the FA cup, the idea that one day I would be with 20 odd thousand at Wembley singing with all my heart ' I'm A Believer ' as they actually lifted the trophy would have been beyond comprehension, but along with Wimbledons success all those years ago proves that the ' Impossible ' is possible in sport, and you should never stop striving to attempt it

| I was pleased that Wigan won ,I don't want Wigan R.L.f.C. to win bugger all ,but I don't mind the football winning ,I couldn't care less about bloody Whelan cos He's a bloody Thatcher lover, and one of my brothers in law is a brain dead fellow from Ingley who never watches either the rugby or the football team but knows more than those that do, so for all the genuine footy fans from Wigan I am pleased well done enjoy the party

| Well that is quite a ringing endorsement of the Wiganers' IQ's.
I am a RL fan not footie and I would much prefer a stronger Wigan RLFC than Wigan Athletic.
Having said that I must admit that the Wigan footie fans must feel like I did 41 years and 362 days ago.
Have to say though that yesterdays FA Cup Final was boring to watch.

| The quality of the game was really poor, and the skills on show were awful for a so called "showpiece" event, but whatever floats your boat..........

No doubt watching on TV, Wigan can be frustrating to watch, add 84,000 people in a stadium ( or even 4,000 in a small stadium ) and the match day experience changes, this is the challenge to most things involving ' live ' entertainment, a full ( fullish ) venue is self serving in that it enhances the experience, it isnt just about sitting down in your ' sterile ' glass box watching some blokes throw and kick a ball about for 80/90 minutes while you sip your glass of Rioca
To achieve that takes a resolve and a vision combined with the nerve to take risks and try new things , playing safe wont cut it
