I remember when it was announced that Widnes were dual registering all their squad to Workington the number of posts on various forums calling us Widnes reserves and Workington Vikings, etc, even though our coach said exactly what you are now saying PR will say or do.

Workington have not used any players from Widnes with loads of SL experience, in fact they have used a 19 yr old and a 20 yr old with no SL experience plus in one game they had a 21 yr old with 1 SL game experience and a 23 yr old with about 5 SL games experience. That never stopped certain posters still calling us Widnes Reserves so why should your team be any different? The play-offs rule is for every club whether the players are dual registered or loaned, they have to play in the requisite number of games to qualify.

Anyone know if anyone has ever set up a new RL club starting out at the very bottom of the sport ?
I know similar things have been done in football when fans have formed a seperate club but has anything ever been attempted in RL at any level ?

Why do we need an official Partnership at all?

Why can’t we, like we have always done simply loan someone if needed?

Why can’t we do what we have always done and be there to pick up the pieces when kids have been rejected by ‘better’ clubs. Kez looks really disappointed to be at Leigh. How hard would it be to simply make it known to all that if you don’t make the grade at SL club X, give Leigh a ring and you’ll at least be invited to have trials.

Most of the lads we sign from amateur would have already either had trails and been rejected or overlooked by SL clubs.

I'm not against change, but it should only be if its better, and I'm really struggling to see how this is better.

In our heart of hearts we all know were this link up is going so its up to the fan base to decide what they want now.
So for now i'd say just sit back and see what happens,watch the miners and east and the u20s arent bad for a couple of quid

I really need to digest the news and my immediate thought was to wonder what the people who formed this once great club will actually be thinking tonight, people who carried it's strong proud traditions great men such as Jack Hilton, Jack Harding who led this team out at Wembley, the clubs crest on his blazer and brimming with pride in front of 100,000 people.

I am in shock, I am now going out to buy a couple bottles of scotch and to be alone for a while with my thoughts.

I've been alone with my thoughts since lunchtime and have just cancelled by TD silver membership as I refuse to pay for Wigan A team's salaries. I'll return my season ticket to the club in the morning. 45 years of supporting Leigh and it's come to this. Gutted!
