It was said, that it was a share and a seat on the board, which is fantastic, however we will not be privy to how much the players wages are and whether the cleaner has been paid.
The club have told the fans about the finances anyway at the fans forums, so they are being open and honest. Its all about trust and the club becoming run professionally that counts.
Obviously there are people out there that are members, that would not be suitable and we don't really need for them to be vetted by the club, our own membership would know this and vote the best person in to do the job.

Are we now saying that LISA is to move away from it's original concept of and become a real shareholder and board member. Lets just say that the LISA board member disagrees with the rest of the board. He or she puts the disagreement to the LISA members who also vote in favour of the disagreement. Lets also say that the only action that maybe left to LISA in order to lever their position is to withdraw their funding. The rest of the board will just vote the LISA director off the board because they are only in that position because of the money that is coming into the club via them. LISA to my knowledge are not shareholders and to become shareholders it will mean LISA taking a completely new direction.
The other thing is that if I were Keith, Phil or Trevour and after all the graft I had put in to keep the club going, I was suddenly confronted with weekly or maybe daily clashes with a board member put there by LISA. I would turn my phone off pack my bag and hand the books over to that member and tell them to run the club. The LISA board member will have to sign a confidentiallity clause also so that every little detail of what happens in the board room is not tranmitted to every single LISA member. It would be a nightmare for the present board if every little argument that happened there, suddenly finds it's way on here. There are loads of scenarios that could happen with this that could wreck all the fantastic work that has been done to save this club. This is something that needs to be thought about very carefully and not have people calling for more power than LISA can handle or really deserve.

As you said it does have pros and cons and of course certain things would be confidentual and I would presume that if the LISA director wasn't doing the job correctly they could be voted off by the members. I cant see the Lisa board member having any clashes, to be honest we have already in the past attended board meeting s after being invited by the board to ask any questions, so its not something new and we can still ask to attend now, ask the members question or concern, so that doesnt change anything really.

I was just putting the worse case scenario forward Lynda. It would be a disaster for yours, the boards, the team, the coaching staff and all the fans hard work to be trashed by this.

If LISA has been offered a place at the table then it is LISA that picks the new member and the Board should accept the decision.

Not at all John. Although we might be asked our opinion on whether certain strategies might work etc, we're offering assistance to the club to help out with whatever they feel necessary. Plenty of outlets already in terms of making the fans feelings known to the club and I'd say LISA is and should continue to be the main outlet for that.

The problem as I see it is that there is no such thing as a "part time" director.
If someone nominated by LISA was to join the Board then they have the same statutory responsibilities as everyone else on the Board and accordingly must have full access to information and involvement in decision making whilst acknowledging their duty of care.
I have seen many Directors of companies who claimed they "didn't really get involved in Board decisions" and are stunned when the authorities come knocking.
Therefore the terms of reference for the LISA representative must be extremely strict -
a) The Director must have full and unencumbered access to all information regarding the running of the business
b) He/She is nominated by LISA to represent it on the Board and is then left to make decisions based upon that information
c) LISA members must accept that they cannot be privy to all the information to which their representative has access
d) The LISA representative must ensure He/She is able to explain to the LISA membership the reasons certain decisions were made without breaching confidentiality
e) Sometimes the LISA membership is just going to have to trust the Board member.....

Personally I think that the final point makes it untenable for anyone to take the position as their lives will be made miserable by dealing with some of the disparate views amongst the members!

Thats the point matt,you haven't just been asked for your opinions 'you' the NSG have been out and about asking supporters for there opinions and then taking them back to the club and the club have done there best to impliment those ideas.that for me is what a voice for the supporters does.
Lisa is a fund raising organisation with the likes of derek and ian and many others doing some great work,better left that way imo.

My interpretation from that is that being a shareholder is far more important than being a Director, LISA the group can be a shareholder and an elected individual could attend board meetings without director status.
I await the stupid posts of some to continue, as there always will be on this subject, but those of us who crave an open book, stakeholder future as a means to avoid the sudden shocks of financial meltdown whilst promoting the my/our club feel good factor/culture know it can ONLY be achieved as a shareholder.

And for personal clarity, I have no interest whatsoever of attending board meetings but will always try to assist should the club feel I could be of any help at any time.

This is a great opportunity, don't miss it by letting the lemmings run over the cliff.
