Quote: worldcup "Last three games of the season are Fridays, Not a good day for me. Have to think hard whether I buy the usual two season tickets. Will be cheaper to pay for each game.'"

Might not necessarily leave you any better off, but I'd expect the Fev and Halifax games to be switched to the Thursday, or at least that's the scenario I'm hoping for if I decide to risk buying a season ticket on that basis.

Well personally I would prefer Sunday evenings for our games.

I am retired so will still be able to make all the games.

On the negative side I think most diehards prefer Sundays but maybe the club is thinking about the Corporate side of things.

Re Thursday nights though I do not think the TV deal will compensate clubs for fans who might go but can watch at home on a computer or on TV.

Non Relegation league crowds do seem to be higher on Fridays.

Not an easy choice and you will never find a time to play when it will suit everyone.

One of my mates won't be happy as he works Fridays.

It doesn't affect me what day we play. I'm just telling you that this descision also is a possitive to some other people who prefer to do other things on Sundays. Lot's and I mean lot's of people I know prefer to attend night matches for whatever reason. Just because a few on here don't like it, doesn't mean that we will be playing infront of lowly 1200 crowds on Fridays next season. The proof of that is in the attendances for night games last season. The club aren't stupid they have done the reasearch. They know how many attended games as a "freebie" for the Tursday night games, they have spoken to other clubs who play on Friday nights and had their feedback. It has not been done to upset a couple of dozen fans who can't/won't change their game day support, it has been done for a sensible commercial reason. Why should we know the intimate thought processes of the board? If the board had to report back giving a detailed analysys of every decsion they make, they would get nothing done. Some on here want to know too much information. They are not happy until they know every action of people who run the club. Just let them get on with it. If you can't/won't watch the team then don't bother. Stop moaning about it.

I think the main issue here is that Keith Freer made it clear in no uncertain terms at the last Fans Forum that, TV games and Good Friday aside, our home games would be on a Sunday, and no doubt people have bought season tickets or signed up to the Touchdown Club while based on that premise. The decision had undoubtedly been made by that point to shift x number of games to Friday nights and that was the perfect format for supporters to raise any feedback about it or for the club to explain that decision.

I can now rest easy and sleep well at night knowing we have a lying sneaky horrible barsteward in charge of our club at the moment. Why come out and tell such lies at a fans forum?? People wonder why there are lots of questions about what goes on behind closed doors.

I freely admit that I prefer Sunday afternoon, but acknowledge that others would prefer evening games. Also, I don't know how much say we have had in this process - for example, Swinton don't seem to be doing Friday's this season, and some of their 'home' matches are on the same weekend as ours. (surely, the RFL fixture boffins could have ensured they were away, when we are at home, and vice versa?)

However, there is one point worth remembering, for those who are unhappy about the fixtures - up to about a month ago, there was a very strong possibility that we wouldn't have a team to watch, this coming season. Fixture dates would have then been a total irrelevance!

Let's hope we are pleasantly surprised by our Friday attendances.

..... and I'll be standing in the Hilton Park stand, yes that's right I've named the North Stand myself:

I'm with most of you guys particularly if the club has said it would keep as many games as possible for Sunday 3pm.

As it happens Friday evening benefits me but its about the majority and I can still make most games on the Sunday even though it is more hassle. If it's been done to help Swinton out then I'm very disappointed but lets see what the club have to say.

I doubt moving to Friday will help to attract more support as anyone who witnessed our SL fiasco will concur. We had some potentially big games (support wise) on Friday's and the attendances were pretty poor I recall. Leeds and Saints are two that spring to mind immediately.

Has this been done for Swintons benefit? Their attendances aren't the best so was this done to help make a decent enough crowd for them as possible as they know us Leigh fans are die hards and are well supported [size(for the championship)[/size no matter what?

In the case of the fixture clashes with Swinton, surely we have first priority on playing on the Sunday? Maybe the club asked to play on the Friday in those situations rather than the traditional Sunday? Either way, it needs clearing up or the rumour mill will undoubtedly be in full swing, if not already.

amazed you have not applied for a PR job at the club, can we have that as our new club logo.

and correct matt, keith DID state sunday matches. Now the club as wanted the town to gather round the club in its darkest hour, and i believe many fans have gone the extra mile. Also a good team as been put in place for the coming season FANTASTIC eusa_clap.gif

SO WHY HAVE THE FANS NOT BEEN ASKED THERE VIEWS ON MATCH DAYS???

Its great we still have a club k020.gif just a selfish view off a supporter for the last 20+ years who always buys a season ticket, shirt and is also going to be helping out for the junior supporters club.

Yes I agree, theres been no offical reason given for the Friday night, cant see it being a change of plan as the draft fixtures would have been sent to the club many many weeks ago.

Forget the Touchdown club and ST. I won't be going Fridays! If I only watch the odd match then I may not go at all to LSV next season. Don't know who decided on a Friday but they are wrong, change it back to Sunday why you still can and before I cancel my Lisa
