| well its a real shame we could not of got more fans to attend, i attended as i am a rl fan as well as a leigh fanm you can be both you know. unforced errors by us plus one or two decisuions go the other way and we'd of really been in with a chance, just hope we firstly take nz at hull and then have another real crack at the aussiues at elland rd.
you know something we as a game can't bemoan the unuon boys gettinbg all the press coverage and the hype, when we struggle to only half fill our national stadium to watch the rl national team. For what its worth i had a great day yesterday watching my country.

Couldn't agree more, we had a great day too! Watched both matches, thought the new Wembly was a brilliant venue. Great atmosphere, pity more people weren't there but those of us who were, had a fantastic time.
30/04/06 "Some of W*gan's travelling fans headed towards the exit before it was even over.".................no change there then!![/quote:suio7kr3]
.....They are our people. Drummond, Costello, Manfredi, Svabic, Martyn, Street, Tickle, Patel, Mossop, Horo, Bristow, Leuleui, Varley, Fleary, Rivett, Tabern, Doran, Woods, Donlan, Wilshire, Leaefa, Hansen, Sale, Murphy… these are all my people.
As a Leyther, you’re one of us the moment you come here to wear the shirt. I don't care where you were born, what colour you are, what religion you are, what language you speak. You're one of us, part of our culture, writing our history as you create your own, and making us stronger for it....[/quote:suio7kr3]:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_10303.jpg |

If that was attendance on the day, then not too shabby........but would that figure also include the 15000 'Club Wembley' members as well?

It won't have included them as it isn't included in their package in the same way that the Challenge Cup is, although they will have had first priority to buy their box.

..... and I'll be standing in the Hilton Park stand, yes that's right I've named the North Stand myself: |
|
| I don't see why the show piece game should be played in an area of the country where hardly anyone supports the code. Why should I pay for transport to get down to Wembley when it could have been held up here and we'd have filled somewhere out?
People just haven't got the money to spend on things like this at the moment.

In fairness Kev I can't see where it could have been played up here and housed a crowd like that. And playing a game at Wembley gives huge kudos to the event which has certainly seen an increase in media coverage, though it's a little daft where the situation now is there isn't any live terrestrial TV coverage and the final will be at a Yorkshire dump less than half the size of Wembley.

| They could have played at Old Trafford and had they known well enough in advance United's game could have been switched for an away fixture or the rugby played on Sunday.
Or maybe they'd have been better served playing the England v Australia game at Elland Road and filling the place out. Other alternativess with less capacity are Wigan, Huddersfield or Bolton, rather we fill somewhere and turn a few away than play to half empty stadium.
I watched GB play Australia at the Reebok a few years back and that wasn't a sell out either.

That's the whole point Kev, that we get more than enough games up here, but playing at the national stadium makes it an 'event'. No chance of getting United agreeing to two blank weekends within a month of each other though.
