does that matter if it is in the same play? if someone knocks on and is allowed to play on they can go to the VR and pull it back for the knock on as long as another tackle hasn't been made

Not a clue mate, just saying what he wrote, i am not well up on the finer rules of the game, maybe someone will enlighten us.

Surely thats not right on the attacking team. Ref says play on, so you play on and score but then ref goes to video ref and says no Try and penalty to defense.
What can player do to avoid penalty in that situation? He's done nothing wrong and just following instructions.

It would have been restarted with a play at the ball at the location of the original tackle as the attacking play would be within his rights to have carried on running if the referee had waved play on.

Just my view of it not saying im right but you see it all the time where they play on and score then get pulled back for something

If a ref is not sure he will always let them score and it will be wiped off if it is not valid.

I would go for the ptb since the player has acted on the ref's instruction and hasn't committed an offence.

Just been reading up on the rules, and seems to be another rule where if you have your foot and your hand over the line and catch the ball from KO with your other hand then you get a penalty from half way line, and choose which player you want to send off. Its cruel but fair play, it is skillful and great awareness.
