If we have a replacement then I'd now use Ellis as backup.
He is off to Hull so just use him if he's needed and lets get the long term Leigh players ready / match ready for when we need them.

Ive only seen him play once but by the sounds of you lot and some Saints fans , We've signed a good player .

If Ellis is not going to hull until the end of the season then he must remain first choice HB,i think he's the most important link in our team.

Use Ellis as and when but lets start to use his replacement more and more so he is ready for when Ellis quits.

Must admit I'm not into this signing players with over half a season left ruling.

There is also the other aspect of 'Leigh selling its best players' hardly likely to help attract these fans we are missing (or investors).
Perhaps if we have players who want out and have signed elsewhere maybe it would be good if both clubs on signing the player agreed to keep it quiet until the season ends.

I'm sure IM can keep him focused until the end of the season,thats assuming we get no bad news about his future in the coming days.

I think Jamie will want to win everything for us this year and should remain first choice. What I would hate to happen to the lad is that he has a few bad game sand the fans get on his back. Good luck to the lad.

If/When we get a replacement we will have the whole of the off season to get him ready but at the moment i think he is to important to us to start messing him about.
Like you,i'm not happy with how this has come about,a short statement from the club wouldn't go amiss,telling us that hull had been given the go ahead to talk to him otherwise it stinks of us and them again.

It hasn't been reported anywhere officially so are they supposed to verify or negate every rumour? I think they have bigger things on their minds at the moment as well.

Jamies a good lad, he came here on a 1 year contract, probably earning buttons.

He's got SL written all over him and it would be unfair to hold the lad back at his age.

Why would we do that......Plenty of players move after the season ends, we just know that Ellis is going in our mid season, meaning that he`s not going to be here next year and not going to HullFC mid season( Good luck to him by the way).

I thought the hull papers had confirmed it?

I'm sure Jamie is professional enough to complete the job he's started and he'll want honours with Leigh on his cv. I dont see any reason why this form should drop off whatsoever but if it does we have plenty of options with Govin, Duffy, Ridyard, and Robbie to come back also.
