| Before you ask the fans that don't go, which day they would prefer, there are a couple of other steps to take, surely?
i.e. Identify those who don't go and ask them why they don't go.
My bet is that reasons other than the game day, will be to the forefront!

And that won't change unless the kick off times are a little more receptive to entertaining clients. We've seen an above average crowd every time we've played on a Saturday evening - to me, the facts don't lie.

What are the facts though, Matt? According to the Club records our only Saturday home games, in the past four seasons, have been the two Toulouse home fixtures - and I can't see them having been all that good.

Didn't we get nearly 2,000 for the Toulouse game last year - ie something approaching 500 more than the Keighley, Dewsbury games et al? I think that's proof in itself, personally.

| If I was a guest of someone who wished to impress me and lighten my wallet, I would much rather he did it on Friday or Saturday night rather than Sunday afternoon.

Possibly, but about the same as the Sheffield & Whitehaven Sunday home games this season, and they don't bring many with them.
It's always going to be one of these decisions that don't please everyone, I'm afraid.

| Not being funny guys but what was our average attendance last season with a team that finished 3rd in the league??
Bad news for me, Friday nights are the way forward! All you need to do is look at Widnes!!
How good would it be playing the Widnes Weirdos on a Friday night at LSV? For me would be awesome but too many people are 'stuck in their ways'!
We need something to change at the club to get the fans back!
Banners all over Leigh and on the East Lancs at the top of the Bypass! W!g@m have got them at Haydock Island where 1000's of people everyday can see the upcoming home games and they also put special offers on but they shout about them unlike us!
Someone with some marketing expertise is needed and quickly because if not we wont even get a chance in 2014!!

| I love Friday nights at Wigan.
There is much more atmosphere and buzz playing it on Friday night.
Also, it's a nice feeling finishing work and going to a game then having the whole weekend free. Playing it at 3pm on a Sunday means planning your day around the fixture.

| We aren't full time, some players may possibly struggle with regular Friday night games, don’t most of them have 'proper' jobs.

| I know 'Basil' would have liked the change from Sundays but like GLOW says having the majority of players part time meant a regular evening KO could be a problem for those.

Trouble with that one is that SKY keep demanding that we play that particular fixture on a Thursday night!

I know what you are saying but when they have played on a Sunday they have got some interesting gates. Personally from trying to attract new fans on the ticket scheme, Friday evening kick offs would have been much easier for me!

For some it will , although looking around A lot of families use Sundays (especially in Summer) to go for a day out/spend some time as a group.
At £8.00 each for youngsters we might struggle on attracting the floating family that we could do with to survive long term.
If a 2+2 family thought 'shall we have a look at our local RL club this sunday' they'd be out of pocket by around £48.00 to just get in (and I think that would be for standing).
I think W!gan do a family ticket starting at £54.00 (stand to be corrected as its what a distant neighbour says he'll pay - it'll be for sitting as the major tennant at the ground doesn't allow standing ), equally important is they can go to the match and still have a family day out on Sunday etc, etc ( hell would freeze before I watched the goons , but you get the picture).
If we are to attract familys then a pay on the day family ticket is a must do IMO.
For me 1 Adult with 1 CHILD = £19:00 , 2 Adults with 2 Children £39:00 for any part of the ground (Presumbing we arn't getting a family area) and with sundays now being the day we are remaining on then a push on filling the ground is needed, the ST Offers are great for commited RL fans, lets not make that offer the beggining and end of our PR push to get fans in this year.
The day we play is always subjective, what isn't is the fact we need more fans, we are up against it even more to attract new fans with our nearest neighbours winning the SL GF, We need to work twice as hard to achieve this (thankless) task of getting new support in.

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity
Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike
SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!:9005.jpg |

Agree except the ' back ' bit , other than that you are spot on , we are abysmal at marketing ourselves , we make Quins look good
Until the club has a total change of attitude we are going nowhere
