in bristol south where i live, labour have a majority over lib dems by a handful of thousand.
usually i vote labour, but this time round i cant reward failure.
the lib dems have some dangerous econmonic ideas and the tories just have a load of barking mad gimmicks.

luckily nowadays, governments have less influence on our lives....its the global economy that you need to watch.
as for immigration...its a good thing fo rthe economy overall, but rubbish if you are one of those that loses out to being under cut.

well as long as people take the trouble to vote, i hate it when people moan about this and that, and can't be bothered to go and vote. i am a civil servant, and they are all after my job, my wage and my pension, but i'd rather cut my hand off before voting tory, so reluctantly will vote labour. as long as a certain person does not get elected in barking i will be pleased, i think people know who i mean.

I'd rather on the polling station floor, which pretty much amounts to the same thing really.

Burnham is not as home and hosed as people think,they have moved atherton into bolton west to try and save the labour candidate there,which means a very large amount of labour votes will be moved from mr self rightous.

Put it this way,the way they have treated atherton over the closure of the high school is nothing short of scandalous,and if atherton people were still in his ward no way would they ever vote for the two faced chump again,he can find £8.5 MILLION FOR LEIGH to have a extention build on a library but children from atherton have to roam the north west for there education...Burnham = liar

I am coming to the end of my working life and, for the past twenty years I have run an Engineering Business, I'm concerned, for my children under the Tories even though my Kids have good professions!
I would warn people to think hard before dismissing Labour as the NHS and Schools have never been better! I laughed at Cameron and Clegg when, they both bragged about sending their kids to State Schools as though it was some kind of achievement! If Schools are as bad as they say why, are their kids not going to Public Schools like they did?

Having seen the Brown outburst and past blurts from other party leaders it is blatantly clear that they care not a jot for the man or woman or child that is indigenous of this island that does not earn 100K a year and puts no kind of burden on any of the social
services. They are all just puppets/muppets with the big companies pulling the strings. All any of them are doing is feathering their own beds for when they retire from politics and go on the corperate scene. Sad but true. Saw a side shot of Nick Clegg the other day and he looks like Frankenstein. So we have the Joker, Frankenstein and The Baby Faced ( National Health/ Education) Assassin. We're all doomed.

I would not let Gordon Brown run a sweet shop, but Andy Burnham is the best man for this town and will have a bit of spare time on his hands soon so he gets my vote.

The last Tories also spent £27 billion of reserves in trying to prop the £ up and, failed miserably!
How many on here can say that they have not prospered over the last 13 years? Think seriously when voting, Tories talk of a period of Austerity to come, its a term Cameron has had to look up because none of his circle knew the meaning of it!

Had two labour leaflets posted (using Royal Mail) through our door but that is all I've seen of Burnham apart from seeing him apologising on telly on behalf of his leader for an uncomfortable hour!

That's the reward for living in such a safe seat. Our votes are pretty meaningless, meaning they can get away with blue murder.

To be quite honest I think they all(politicans) are a waste of time, they lie to get in power and continue to lie when in power. They make promises they dont keep too.

Good point, now that you mention it i have not seen any politicians in this aera (Skem) and yes i think people assume this is a safe Labour seat,though West Lancs council is and has been since 2002 a Tory council so i would have expected to have seen all 3 trying to get votes but as you said just leaflets, Tory, Labour and Lib Dem

Personally I don't want any of them knocking on my door asking for my vote. Like I tell British Gas sales people knocking on my door expecting me to commit to changing my provider there and then on the door step based on verbally being told they are the cheapest - "Post a leaflet and I will read it in my own time and will decide on the pros and cons then. Now P off while I finish mi tea!"

As for the local elections was one of the current councillors prosecuted by wigan council over a land grab? Does anyone have any info on this story which I overheard in a pub so didnt hear all the facts and i could be barking up the wrong tree/ didnt hear which party it was but it might be west of the leigh borough,
