I' ve never seen Watson give anything other than 100% in attack and defence for any team I've seen him play for and, we can't be a better side with another scrum half because the other Players are rubbish! its probably the worst threequarter line at Leigh for years! Big signing Donlan is completely wasted/ineffective at centre, I like Ian Mort but Donlan is a better fullback!'" Well I,m sorry to agree with you again in case I embarress you but thats my view too.
Mort stated his career at stand off I understand, although one doesn,t hear much rugby news in Salford. Donlan is a class act, like his dad was ,but he isn,t a centre.

Maden started his career at centre but he's barely a winger these days lol

LEYTHER by heart and soul!!
30/04/06 "Some of W*gan's travelling fans headed towards the exit before it was even over.".................no change there then!![/quote:suio7kr3]
.....They are our people. Drummond, Costello, Manfredi, Svabic, Martyn, Street, Tickle, Patel, Mossop, Horo, Bristow, Leuleui, Varley, Fleary, Rivett, Tabern, Doran, Woods, Donlan, Wilshire, Leaefa, Hansen, Sale, Murphy… these are all my people.
As a Leyther, you’re one of us the moment you come here to wear the shirt. I don't care where you were born, what colour you are, what religion you are, what language you speak. You're one of us, part of our culture, writing our history as you create your own, and making us stronger for it....[/quote:suio7kr3]:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_10303.jpg |

| Quote: optimist "Totally agree that we fell apart when Watson left the field, which further underlines what a big asset he is to the team.
However there's a few points i'd like to make in regard to todays game.
1/ Why did the referee allow play to continue, when Watson was flat out with blood pouring from a gaping head wound.
2/ Why did N.K use up all his changes so soon? From what i'm lead to believe Watson was stitched and bandaged and wanted to come back on!
In conclusion - If anyone would have offered me 4 points from the 2 Easter fixtures before a ball was kicked, then i'd of gladly taken it!'"
It was obvious to everyone that our organisation fell apart when Watto went off. Can't understand why Durbin was not moved in to half-back at that point - as he was wasted at centre!!
And don't get me started on Marsh!!! I've been a fan of Lee, but he was just a waste of space today. Can someone please explain to me how a lad with a boot as obviously powerful as he has is kickng to touch in virtually a staight line? If the main stand was not there those kicks would have ended up on the by-pass!! He should be booting 50-60 yards up field to take the pressure off the forwards....and booting the GLDOs over the half-way line!!
Like you say, if someone had offered me 4 points on Thursday I'd have snatched their hand off.....but after watching the first half today, and realising that Barrow are not actually as good as I had been led to believe, it's got to be seen as 2 points thrown away!!

| Durbin only 'defended' in the centre he 'attacked' (if that be the right word ) at half back when Watto went off

Anyone can 'knock on' however in the second half Durbin was guilty of two, deep in 'enemy territory' when not under pressure!

| Watson is our on field leader. We were completely clueless in attack when he went off. Durbin is not the answer at half back! He is an impact player off the bench who gives us another dimension in attack whether that be from dummy half or slotting in at HB temporally. Marsh is another who is an impact player who can slot in at HB or move into 13 to give us another option. Durbin and Marsh should be on the bench which means we need another half back. I trust that the overseas player will get his visa soon and fill in that position. We are also desperate for an impact centre who can bust the line. Please Mr Kelly address the situation quickly the people of Leigh have aready lost their patience with the team, we cannot affors to lose any more fans. 2100 attendance for a bank holiday fixture against a top 4 club at home is very worrying.

1972.jpg Looking forward to next season already!
Leyther and Loyal:1972.jpg |

| But to put it another way it's 500 up on the last time we played Barrow... still some way short of the 2600 average the club mentioned at a LISA meeting though...

953.jpg 2015 - major missed opportunity, 2016 - stronger teams = harder task (no problem there then), 2017 - OMG What now!!!:953.jpg |
|
| They were probably reasonably pleased with the attendance, but yet again we get a few more in maybe on the back of Good Friday and show them our absolutely atrocious amateurish side.......for the final half hour anyway

To me the Fev game is now a real "Biggie".....The club has got to pull out all the stops to get the ground as full as possible for the Sky cameras.....as many freebies as they can print and give away!! The team has to then play their part and turn in a decent performance, which we have seen precious little of at home this season. We need another match lik the 'haven game.....then you might just persuade a few of the stay aways that we have the makings of something half decent, that can only improve.....

| I think yesterday showed how important Watson is to our side. We were clueless when he went off. Despite still having the likes of Durbin, Jock, even Marsh or Rourke on the pitch at least one of them should have taken the game by the scruff of the neck but it seemed no one knew were they were playing in relation to 6/7 and 9 so they couldn't.
Hope Watson will be ok and ready for Saturday.

Haven't been a big Watson fan to say the least, but we do look sick without him in attack. Defensively, the guy is incredible, often involved in 3 tackles per set! I think he needs runners and a good no.6.
