| We were victims of our own success after that game as the pundits made us favourates for the Cas game. Why couldn't they have just shut up.

One of my earliest rugby memories is going to watch Whitehaven when i was a sprog in the old 2 divisions, bloody cold, wet and windy. Dont reckon it would have changed now......

He was tackled by about 6 HKR forwards, maybe 20 feet from the line, reached an arm out, and plonked the ball down on the line.
Ok Ok, it might have been 10 feet out with 5 defenders, but you get the drift.

| one final memory from me for 82.
the day of the whitehaven decider was a thurs and my sister was at school and there was no way she would miss that match.
at about 11:30 she put her hand up to inform the teacher about an imaginary docs appointment and she would have to leave.
within a minute 20 other kids had done something similiar and a class of 30 became 10.
she became part of the 6000 strong convoy heading to cumbria.
finest rugby day of my life.
have you got that dvd fred?

| Fred, do you know who bought Telvista's library when they went belly up? They covered every 82 tour match and lots of matches around 81 to about 84 when they went under? Telvista were a Yorkshire company based close to Yorkshire TV.
