Having a go at Refs , why do folk do this ?They say it as they see it , I would love a few to have a go at Reffing a game , we all see games differently and have opinions which contrast , I never blame a REF its a job that must be done , I don't care if the Ref is Ray Charles .

My grandad always said with no ref there's no game !!!

Interesting point made by Leyther Bob. I'd wager that the majority of the red/yellow cards in our games this season, have been with this referee.

Well Alan I don't keep those sort of statistics but I always say refs are totally unbiased so that will do me.

I know we have won more games than we have lost this season whoever has been referee.



And that ref at our away game at Donny must have been a Donny fan.

Was that good or bad on the part of the ref?

OH Dear.....he does get 'flustered' when things get 'rough'. Lets things go, then makes up for it by going OTT later in the game.
Fax v Fev needs a TOP ref.

George Stokes first Championship appointment was Batley v Leigh when Basil was coach. We won comfortably.

Fax v Fev result on Sunday will be down to the players not the referee.

Who's to say? I'm certainly not qualified to comment on the competence of referees, but it does seem to be that he's had the matches that have kicked off. (e.g. Halifax home & away; Fev away, Rochdale away where there were 5 red cards and 6 yellow and the officials didn't always 'card' the correct players) Of course, it could probably be that those were the games that were most likely to kick off, but could he have handled them any better, and nipped the trouble in the bud before it started?

Maybe just a curious statistic, like Leigh scoring 52 in their first three games, or Rochdale scoring 22 in each of their three games against us?

I do think we have to live with errors in referees decision making in the hope that these things even out over the game. However for me the most important aspect of the referees job is to keep control over foul play by taking early action rather than leaving incidents unpunished that inevitably results in players taking the law into their own hands as frustration levels build.
Most fracas are a result of retribution for something that went on earlier and was unpunished.
