| I do wonder if these threads are always so half jokey?
16-12 and 3,500 attendance.
MOM: - Hansen, Rene, Fui (for his minutes).
Higson and Armstrong went well too.
Heard someone went off with dislocated fingers, I'm assuming it Hoppy.
That was the dullest match I've seen this season, its almost a godsend that the ref started that provided some entertainment.
We defend well in the middle of the park, but not on our own goalline. Brainfarts galore, there seemed to be no glue holding things together, no leadership and no real clue.
Credit to Fev for sticking with it all the way, including after the hooter.
Win is a win though, ground out as it was.

| Totally pathetic today. We rely completely on the fact that we have better individual players than the Championship opposition. We just don't play as a team. Too many mistakes, too many conceded penalties and too many stood around watching. Play like that in the 8s and it'll be worse than last season.

| Didn't notice our half backs at all and we conceded ANOTHER try from dummy half.

| You could have thurston and Lockyer at half back, if they're getting slow ball and nobody moving around them, they won't do much.
Kicking game was improved, particularly first half, as we made them start sets in their 10. Problem was we'd then make mistakes to haul them upfield

| Only one more game until Micky is back! We need him badly.
Hood going off injured after 30 mins meant we had to play without a recognised hooker for most of the match which is always going to be a problem but to be honest I thought Hood was having a poor game anyway before he went off.
Moimoi, Lee Smith, Hansen and Maitua were excellent. Moimoi definitely deserved his MoM award, he made huge yards all afternoon and got us on the front foot.
It was a shocking performance but I would say we deserved the win although it was a nervy finish once again.
Playing tough, tense fixtures like that is probably a good test for the team ahead of the 8's. Certainly more useful that putting a team to the sword.

| Well i'm a fan of riddy & ben at HB and i think if they were both playing together today we might have seen a better outcome.
I also might add that Higham's absence also played a part in our woeful attack.

Again Derek I agree, I asked at one point ,Was Josh Drinkwater playing? And Travis Burns reminds me a bit of Chris Sandow of Warrington , but he doesn't take the line on as much as Sandow does, again there is time for him to do it.

| Slight concern is nothing has been learned from last weeks poor first 60mins v Haven.
Plus point is we are not hitting the straps yet getting victories.
Higham is a huge loss and injuries with an (increasingly) ageing squad is inevitable but at some point we need to get our strongest fully fit pumped up squad on the field and give it the full 80mins as at times it looked like the lads didn't know the moves that was being put on, Fev though played the best I'd seen v Leigh for a long time and on another day would have come away with a win.
Kay and Higson (seemed to get injured in the warm up) both had to take the ball in far too often but that was a busted team and as someone mentioned playing without a hooker for a large part of the game so I'll take the points especially as we didn't have the ball as much as we'd like and the PTB was slow all game but and I'd hope we have improvement to come.
Still top and hopefully with the remaining games will provide the intensity we need (as today did)to prepare for what will be an incredibly difficult 8's.
Moimoi my M.O.M.

| We will soon be battling against the clock, (calendar?) to get a settled team before the Qualifiers. We had two half backs who haven't had time to get to know their team mates, and the hope is that they do get to know them in the next few weeks. Also, loanee forwards maybe saving the legs and bodies of our regular pack but, once again their selection inevitably leads to a lack of understanding on the pitch.
I don't know what the situation actually is with Ridyard, but we are certainly missing him, big time at the moment. I'm sure he would have been able to spark some better attacking play from us.
The adage that "we played badly but still won" is one that we won't be able to repeat in the Qualifiers!
