Dickens is a master of cheap shots see him many times going in after the tackle with his elbow... hand into the face of oppo players on the ground, tough guys don't need to do that , pity James Taylor is,nt fit for the Centurions I'm sure he would show Dickins the. Correct way to smash oppo players down

| It wasn't the fact that he came in with a tackle it was the swinging arm and there is no denying he did it, its there on the vid for all to see, as I said a, cheap shot at Pownall who was already flat out under the big lummox

| I didn't see it like you but c'est la vie.
I just love the emotive language used!! Yet when the two Leigh lads were up before the disciplinary t'other week I can't remember reading too many "CHEAP SHOT" comments!!
It's a physical game. Some players (mainly prop forrads - it's in the job spec) like to 'enforce' their dominance. Sometimes it's our players that do it, sometimes it's the opposition! It's not netball - it happens. On friday we just got the upper hand. Like I said earlier, another day we won't.
But the failure to acknowledge that Leigh players would ever involve themselves in such dreadful shenanagins makes me smile! They have, they do and they will!!!
Love n peace man!

| Please never remind me again of Leigh's last NRC match at Fev. It was in the group stages on a February night in 2009. Hobson was the man who was meant to have taken out the Fev player. I do not think it was the main factor in our defeat. We also had a man sin binned and had to contend with the small matter of a 21 4 penalty count against us. Incidentally a Fev player wiped out Nicky Stanton in the first half right in front of me and he left the field never to return. I think we may have got a penalty. It was one of the most inept and biased refereeing performances I have ever had the displeasure of watching. Who was the great man in charge? The one and only Jimmy Child. What is even more sad perhaps, is that Mr. Cummins was in the stand that night and we all know how Mr. Child has never looked back. Yet another event that highlights what a cheap joke our game often is. What I do distinctly remember though and I have respected him for it ever since, was RFF coming on this board to say as much. Credit where it is due.

| It''s a bloody hard game. Leigh have always had a physical side - and we haven't always had it "our own way" when playing Leigh.
I try to be as objective as I can. When Ingy got sent off v Hunslet I thought it was a stupid reaction to provocation that deservedly got him 2 matches.
When Tim got sent off v Batley I again thought - daft deliberate action deserving 2 games. Sometimes it happens - AT ALL CLUBS!!!!
The 'point's scoring or assuming the moral high ground gets a bit tedious when folks are quick to leap on indiscretions (perceived or otherwise) of opposition players carefully omitting from their text that their teams players would be even capable of contemplating such action - when reality suggests otherwise.
Now this Jamie Child thing - I watched us on the wrong end of a 17-2 pen count that same season at widnes. What an hapless kuwaiti tanker she is.

| So in other words, we are back to square one with this incident. Leigh did not cite the incident because they never do. The RFL disciplinary must have singled this incident out. DVD inconclusive, so they are saying they basically haven't got the required level of footage to say one way or t'other ( they haven't got a clue) If Leigh can replicate the way that Dickens and England approached this tackle with regularity and go unpunished on Thursday and in future matches this season, I will be very pleased.

| I know Pownall hasn't fractured it, but I think it is probably a bit optimistic to expect him back for Dewsbury. I hope you are right though. He will have been out for three weeks then I suppose.

Neither player nor coach made any suggestions of foul play and indicated that these things happen in a contact sport - hence no citation from Leigh.
The evidence they reviewed suggests whilst inconclusive suggests "shoulder to shoulder", which is how player, coach and myself saw it in real time.
Are you suggesting they should have banned Ingy or Stu because of "your feelings" despite what evidence there is suggesting otherwise?
Quote: underthesticks ") If Leigh can replicate the way that Dickens and England approached this tackle with regularity and go unpunished on Thursday and in future matches this season, I will be very pleased.'"
I expect Rugby League forrads to approach each tackle with aggression and determination. If it's a fair tackle I'll accept the outcome.
If a player comes out with the deliberate attempt to illegally hurt someone then he'll be sent from the field.
I realise you haven't suggested that UTS but the underlying tone is there. e.g. despite player testimony and available evidence you still believe foul play took place and went unpunished - something you hope will be reciprocated thursday!
C'est la vie.

| I am stating(not suggesting) that I will be very pleased if Leigh can carry out challenges such as the one we are discussing and go unpunished. I will also be extremely surprised.
