The potential, for me, was his size, mobility, and all round fitness. Agreed he's not been breaking the line much, this season, but he has been committing numerous opposition players to the tackle.
However, I now think any potential is about to go out of the window!

| For a gym owner and someone that looks the part he never really strikes me as a fitness freak be honest... thought last year he was pretty good but all I’ve seen this year is him dominated in the tackle web. He can actually stay on the pitch.. let he’s mates down big time yesterday

Agreed. They did massively well, in bad conditions (to be playing one man down for 74 minutes) to convincingly overcome the handicap.

| Quote: Zulu01 "Saw the incident, Jamie was well out of order - we don't need this in our team. The lad was in a bad way. If it was caught on video - bye Jamie for at least 6 matches possibly longer.
Any news on how Hemingway is, he was taken to Hospital (blue lighter)'"
I was sat in the Stand and Hemingway had his back to me but I saw Jamie collide with him and Hemingway hit the ground. People around me were of the opinion that Hemingway had perhaps banged his head on the hard pitch has he landed as none of us saw anything untoward and, I didn't see the linesman rush on or, the Batley enraged ! The most important issue here is Tom Hemingway's welfare and, we all wish him a speedy and full recovery and hope to see him back on the pitch soon.
Jamie wont need any enemies down at Red Hall, he's got enough on this Forum! Ill need to see better than a still Photo to make a judgement! Poster's are even criticising his performance's on the Pitch? he constantly makes more yards than his team mates and his 'go forward' is badly missed when he is absent! He too receives a lot of rough treatment however, he never shy's away even though he is often targeted! The amount of head injuries he has sustained this season would have put a lessor man down!
Apologies also to Jimmy Child, he must have eyes at the back of his head? so full marks to him if he claims to have seen the incident!
Lets wait to see what the evidence provides before we 'hang' him, a player being Hospitalised is not always the result of some kind of 'savage play' .
Regardless, Jamie is a fans favourite because they appreciate his efforts on the Pitch! If the evidence proves he has acted in a thuggish and cowardly manner then he cannot complain about the punishment he will receive!

Like you said Kirky , you didn't see the incident just the aftermath. I however I did, I saw it head on, like I said left arm well before the picture was released, if you are going to suspend judgment until you see the video then that's great. I like you have always been a big fan you can always check my back posts. But this time, no I will not be defending him whatsoever.
The video will probably be on LCTV tomorrow.
Hope you are fine, not seen you in while - take care

| Seen the video it don’t look as bad as the photo but still raises the elbow to the face. He a liability at times no need for it so early in the game they will prob throw the book at him now and rightly so it’s nearly every game he does something stupid he was our best forward last season for me but let’s himself down not showed anywhere near form that he had last season got big contract and now just ticking over

| Whilst I respect a lot of people's opinions and I tend to agree with most of Kirkhalls posts, we do hold differing opinions on this one player.
For me he is one the most over rated players I have ever seen in a Leigh shirt. Constantly fails to deliver any positive contribution to the team. Unruly, Ill disciplined, a ticking time bomb, it is the 3rd consecutive business end he will be drawing his bread , whilst sat on his backside.
He does not even play it tough.
Cowardly, sly or underhand. Blindside off the ball on the little Batley half, from behind unseen against Salford's Flanagan, or whilst Bird is on the deck, it does not matter but for sure it will never be man to man with Acton. He would not last 5 mins in my day. He really wouldn't.
I don't even think he wants to play for our club. He does not place the club or the team before himself.
Get rid please, enough is enough, a disgrace.
He is also utter tosh of a player.

Monty, I was at the Mount on Sunday, there was a fair few Leigh fans under the Stand, when Acton walked past them , a high percentage of the Leigh fans were chanting,He's one of our Own ,about Acton, and he got plenty of applause as well.

To be fair Charlie they probably didn't see the incident, their views might be different today.

A strange breed Rugby League fans, a round of applause and a chant for receiving a red card and leaving his teammates in the e. Fortunately these teammates were capable of overcoming their teammate’s desertion.

| I have empathy for Acton as he just can't grasp that 'leave it' part of his game. Shame because he is a good prop, no doubt about that. But the leopard obviously hasn't changed his spots, and to be honest why should he? Its the only way he knows to play.
He's had the backing and support from the club, but sat in the stands again on a juicy contract isn't the answer for Leigh. So again they need to deal with it this time as he had his orders last time and the time before and the time before that.
Enough is enough.
