Count the rows of seats in each stadium you will find the LSV has considerably more seats in each seated Stand, and the standing section behind the goal is much bigger too!

Don't go off just the size of the stands for the capacity, it's also dictated by the amount of space on the concourses etc as well. And the seating in our East and South Stands are considerably higher than the seating areas at Wire, I reckon.

It's quite straightforward really - the Leigh club is finally getting wise to the way the RFL works:-

RFL announces that minimum capacity for SL is 10,000.
Leigh announce 10,000+ capacity new build.
The RFL moves the goalposts and announces minimum capacity of 12,000.
Leigh announce a revised capacity of 12,000+, as the North stand will now be a standing area.
The RFL will probably announce a revised, revised capacity of 14,000.
Leigh will then announce that seats are to be taken out of the East stand, giving a new capacity of 16,000.
The RFL move the goalposts (and all other fixtures and fittings) and announce...........!

Also a 2nd tier can be easily added to the East, the foundations have been dug that way but it wasnt built due to the potential of low flying Geese

There is also a machine under the pitch' which' merely at the press of a button in one of the unused ladies toilets in the East stand will elevate a 50 metre square area around the kick off spot so that should the LSV ever want to stage a pop concert' or a world heavyweight boxing match' it will enable extra fans to stand on the pitch and have a belting view.
