| Quote: Halifax1989 "What I dont understand is (and please dont take this the wrong way) what was the draw to Leigh? He said he had offers from SL and I would imagine half the SL teams would have loved to sign him. I cant imagine Leigh could significantly outbid the SL teams. Even surprised Salford didn't go for him (which they may have done for all I know).
Anyway, ignore the jealousy, hes a fantastic player and a real character, delighted to see him in England and in the championship, even if it isnt with Fax.'"
Methinks the offer of free hog roasts and free range eggs off Lee Hansen was a major factor!

He should indeed. I've decided to back the clubs investment by buying a new Leigh shirt for me and my son..so that's not far off a 100 quid right there.
Tipster Ste - what odds are you giving for a sell-out for the Bradford game?

I think there are a few factors...
leigh is a winning team moving forward with an excellent family spirit, we have a history of welcoming Tongan players and there is a strong community in the area, the LSV has excellent facilities, full time contract with lower intensity could extend a players career.
can't see how Salford is a more attractive proposition other than money.

| It is Fui Fui Moi Moi? Oh my, just how did we keep it secret for so long ?
On a serious note that is a splendid signing. I remember the buzz of the crowd when he charged the ball in for Tonga in the world cup match back at Leigh last winter.
I have already purchased 2 children's shirts for Xmas presents. I know a young lad that would love Fui Fui on the back. Can this be done at the market ?

Why do i get the impression if Derek was paying Steve McCurrie £2k a week you would agree with him.
Actually now being serious, i also think it may prove a bargain. May do.
If we are spending this amount on him i do hope we have a promotional budget to market this signing to its full optimum potential. We need to reach every house hold in town that a quality internationally renowned player has chosen to sign for Leigh,
RADIO ADVERTS, BILBOARDS, FULL BUS SPONSORSHIP,
All relatively untapped but marketing is all empowering and we could recoup his salary 10 fold.

| I think MOIMOI should lead Leigh in the LOBBY HAKA before every match. Now that's pre-match entertainment. The crowds will love it!!! :O) Can't wait to see MoiMoi, Barlow and Acton destroying the opposition. We will win this league like we won it last year - Bratfort & London - Who are yer! Who are yer!

| Decent signing for this league, I'm not too sure many SL teams would have been interested to be honest given his age and his performances in NRL over the past 2seasons. Should do well in the championship though
What I don't understand is why you think he will draw the crowds in. They didn't come to watch when you destroyed all competitions last season. A few may come out of interest to watch his first couple of games. But once they have seen him, why would they keep coming back,
I think if you make SL then the your attendances will go up, but I foubt moi moi will make a huge difference

| Fantastic signing.
If this guy 'comes to play for us' he will be ripping up trees at our level.
Paul needs to get a call in to the UK Forestry Commission and put in a request that he does all contact training with them - we don't want to be starting the new season with half of our excellent squad injured.
Brian Noble apparently described him as a Wrecking Ball during his 2013 World Cup commentary.
Derek's shrewd deal gives him the incentive to play for the second year on his contract and MoiMoi has backed himself to deliver - to win that second year of the deal. From what I've read on the net and seen on the video footage he is not the type of character to give anything less than his best anyway. It seems to me - he is wired that way.
His early career was not a smooth ride - especially for his opponents - he was apparently suspended for 22 weeks in his first two years but worked hard at refining his style and game and has missed only three weeks in suspensions since.
He has averaged 36 minutes and 80 metres per game this year, at the highest level - in the Aussie NRL, according to Fox Sports.
There will hopefully be other huge benefits that he can add to our full time training environment and also in terms of marketing our club and raising our profile both locally and nationally.

| Good signing for Leigh & top tryscorer Bet of the season should be Brierley as he will score a hatful running off FF.
Someone needs to talk to Premier Sports to get the Championship covered properly.
