gutted cant go to the final found out when i got home from the home game against halifax that her indoors had booked a holiday and when i asked the dates she wasnt to impressed when i said that she should have checked with me what dates as it clashed with the final on the bright side at least its on sky and i will be sat with a beer in the sun watching with my leigh shirt on

When we played HKR in the final, we were in Santa Ponsa, days before the match I booked the big Screen in the hotel to watch the game. On the day the glows went from sunbathing into the hotel bar area and sure enough the bar manager put the sky channel on, we got ourselves a beer and all settled down in our Leigh Shirts.

Next thing a bloke came in and said “Looks like we’re in for a thunder storm, who’s playing”. Within a few minutes of replying there was the biggest sound of thunder I’ve ever heard and all of a sudden everyone ran in from the pool area.

We suddenly went from 4 of us watching to about 100 in a matter of minutes, even after the storm had passed, about 30 stayed watching most of whom ended up being Leythers for the day, we even had a few songs going, and a lot of beer

it was a great afternoon, in fact I’d say one of my best experiences of watching Leigh.



We were given a free bottle of plonk at the end of the game by the bar manager, to celebrate Leigh winning

Reason I'm asking is we were in Santa Ponsa when we played in 2004 , we ended up listening on the radio , yours must have been 2006 as I dont remember any thunder storms

There's a thread on the 'Fax site that says that the RFL are expecting the final to be close to a 9k sell out, will they open the other stand if they sell all the tickets?
