Get LEIGH outta wigan: |
|
| Quote: Faxhali "Fax know too well about sponsors and corparate packages etc not going according to plan, Link Telecom who were a big sponsor of fax went under whilst sponsoring us and it had a big effect. However it all turns out i wish your club nothing but the best, I wont be able to travel to any friday night games this year and will miss this fixture above all the others, the friendly atmosphere and chanting was fantastic last year in every encounter. Perhaps i might have to hope its on TV and buy a decent surround sound package and whack the volume up.'"
Fax vs leigh is on thursday night.
The return fixture is on friday night at the moment,no doubt it could be changed to thursday.
Fax and fev wer probably the only 2 away games i was going to next season because i've other things to do with my money at the moment. As they are both on tv i will probably be giving them a miss as well.

| Quote: Leyther_Matt "I'd expect our game to get shifted to the Thursday. Hoping so anyroad as I can't make the Friday either, but so be it.
You know how people who no longer attend Leigh games harp on about 1971, 1981/82 etc and how that means we might as well be playing pub rugby these days? Well 'Fax were in third spot as recently as 1998 so I think they face our problem ten-fold!'"
This is what i'm trying to say Matt, clubs need to change the way they do business.

| Quote: Alan "The club had 48 hours to make a decision in unusual circumstances - e.g can't use the pitch for 6 weeks, (do 'Fax consult the fans about when they want games played, to compensate for that, when the Shay is being seeded?) and sharing with another Championship club for a season. (were 'Fax's fixtures given priority, when Huddersfield were sharing, last season?)
We would dearly like to be in a position of being able to communicate direct with all our fans, and we are actually working on that.
As for asking the players, well they've suffered a lot currently, and the least we can do is talk to them, which doesn't actually cost us anything!
Alan, to say you were only communicating answers to questions asked i find your post confrontational this is'nt a Fax is better than Leigh post.
Leigh only had 48 hours notice that the pitch would be resufaced ?. hard to beleive or some serious communication problems somewhere between Council/LSV/Leigh
Yes Fax's fixtures took priority over the Shay, The shay is being resurfaced this year so we are playing 4 away games on the trot, not changing the dates. Fax have a ten year lease with the council for the stadium therfore HRLFC take priority over anybody borrowing the pitch, we share with FC Halifax town and although most supporters of each club dislike the other it works very well indeed.
Talking to the Employees is fine, Cowtailing to what they want is different, As for communicating with your fans, Did you not do that at the Fans forum and tell them sundays to only go and change it fridays ?. i believe that to be the case and i would be pretty peed off too as a supporter. I would have thought that season ticket sales would be a main priority to get the money in the pot so the club can reach its business plan as to not breach salary cap ( 30% of turnover IIRC ) and not get a points deduction again. Looking at the 25 pages of responses it appears to me that this has/will have a adverse effect on ST sales.
Take your Leigh head off and look at it from a outsiders pespective and you might see what i mean.

Thats a good question, If you can answer it please send it to every club below SL level. Increasing caverage crowds by 50 -100 fans is hardly making strides is it ?.
Every Method every club has tried below SL has little or no effect at all, ( unless you double your last gate of the season by giving Free tickets out and counting them on the attendances )

But have fax changed the way they do things or are they still just sitting back and hoping for the best, IE, if we keep playing well and winning trophies then they will eventually come back.

No intention of being confrontational, with you - especially a 'Fax supporter. The point I was labouring to make is that not everything is in our hands. A comparison might be that you are playing four consecutive away matches, because your pitch also requires attention. (Footballers ripping it up, eh? ) However, 'Fax wouldn't have consulted the fans about how happy they are about four consecutive away games
If you backtrack over admittedly a heck of a lot of posts, you will see that Leigh had 48 hours to make a decision for the RFL. We always knew the pitch was to be re-done, but up to last Tuesday, assumed our wish to play on Sundays wasn't affected. That's why the Forum was told we would be playing on Sundays. (Premier Sports permitting)We had until the Thursday, to come up with alternative dates for the clashes. (i.e Tuesday to Thursday was the 48 hours I referred to)
You are right - s/t sales will probably be adversely affected - that was always going to happen, because prices were increased, for the first time in a number of years. I sympathise with fans who can't make Fridays. I also prefer Sundays, but am lucky enough to be able to make Fridays too. For the record, I detest travelling over the M62 in the evening, but I'll still be at the Shay on the Thursday evening, because it's always a cracking game.
As for taking my Leigh head off, no apologies there - it's Leigh's problem, and that's what is being discussed.

No alarmist, no spin just facts !!

953.jpg 2015 - major missed opportunity, 2016 - stronger teams = harder task (no problem there then), 2017 - OMG What now!!!:953.jpg |
|
| You are comparing an early bird offer with a full price ticket. The prices you use are factual yes, but your comparison is an attempt to cause trouble and is a nonsense.
