I too think Mortimer signed a contract with no clause.
He stated this on GMR.
Saying that, contracts are worth nothing nowadays !!

But I thought it was not so much about clauses in the contract, but RFL rules mean that both player and club have 3 months notice to stay or go.

Yes there is certainly some legislation in place regarding a 3 month 'cooling of period'
I think however you may have to have been here a certain amount of time for that to apply. Mortimer signed a contract for 2018 knowing there was every chance the club could be relegated 6 weeks later.

Is it not a big weakness of MPG that you are basically on a free contract? Could another team or agent not be filling a players head with promise of a big signing on fee for a new club should they lose? It seems wide open to exploitation and a lot easier than feigning homesickness.

Monty what about Toronto squad makes them the team too beat? Ashton sims wouldn't of got in our aging pack this year... Dave Taylor is unfit and overweight had half a good season in nrl and he's living off that.. Toronto has a good squad but certainly no better than what we have with a few old heads too go out and some good signings too come in.

Promising news about Mortimer also, would love him to stay but in all honesty don't expect him to. Hopefully he may feel he owes us, but if not at least we will get dosh to invest elsewhere |

Goodwins contract must have covered Championship,which would have kicked in on 1st December. Or Leigh wouldn't have got a fee.
