Charlie is ready for today's game , I can't wait ,although a good result on Wednesday I wasn't really able to concentrate on the game , but I'm feeling much better at the moment and am awaiting my Chauffeur to take me to the LSV.


As for the game?I can't see anything but a Mighty Leythers win ,it won't be easy and I take nowt for granted these days ,so I'm going for a score of Leigh 32 v Fev 16 , I hope come to play rugby and not rough house play,I rate Fev as a good team,but Cmon you Leythers.A neighbour of mine who is a descendant of a Commanche Medicine man says it won't rain until around 4.30 .

Potential for an upset today.

Fev in decent form despite last weeks defeat.
Unbeaten away from home (except in Blackpool).
Beat Bradford away recently by a big score.
Stinging from last weeks loss.
New coach always seems to give sides a boost.
It's our 3rd game in 7 days, Fev had a full week to recover and prepare.

I'd love a big win to boost our points difference and if we show up well we could do but with all the above taken into account, I'll be happy to sneak any sort of win.

No disrespect to Hunslet Nozzy but Wednesday was like a full contact training session for the boys. They will be ready for today.

Well IF we win today, I recon that will be it for the Championship. Can't see Bradford catching us on goal difference looking at their run in - even if they manage to beat us. This will be tough today though.

Correct me if I am wrong guys, is this the 18th time this season that Leigh have posted 50 or more points in a match ?

Dire 1st half performance with lots of dropped ball & stupid offloads in our own 20/30 & the wild pass into touch by Ryan on the 1st play receiver.

A skinny 10 & a lot of back to the play from the ref 1st half but for much of it I thought they out enthused us & played marginally better.
Despite this, to go in at half time 28-12 up & playing poorly was good news.

2nd half much better controlled & never a danger of a reverse in this, playing towards the North Stand & both Fui & Ryan bagging hat tricks.

Can't now see Fev making the 4 in the middle 8.

On a side note *since starting this post* Eagles are up 22 - 6 at home to Bradford.

Again another side note on todays match.

4127 the attendance, which I actually find slightly disappointing given our season, the way the team play exciting rugby league & the opportunity to play for a SL place in the 8's.

Still, only 300+ short of Salford at home to Hull KR *how many of those were free ?*
500+ less than Widnes v Catalan & lots more than Wakey at home to Wire.

Thought we might have achieved 5,000 today, maybe people are saving up for the 8's where I am sure some records will be set.

First 20 minutes today we were pretty terrible. 4 errors in our own half, 3 of them unforced. 3 soft penalties too. Gifted Fev so much possession and territory. Yet we were only 10 - 12 down despite playing badly. Soon as we strung some sets together we ran them ragged and scored almost at will.

Forwards smashed Fev all over the park. Paul Wood worked hard and Maitua punched a couple of holes but overall their pack got hammered by our lads today. Dicko, Wilkes, Hoppy, Haggerty and both hookers did a massive amount in defence which left Moi Moi, Hock and Barlow fresh to terrorise them in attack.

We tailed off again in the final 20 and bombed several chance which could have put more of a gloss on it. Should have had 60+ but concentration slipped near the end.

Very good performance, comfortable winners and could/should have been more.

Ref let them play at a slow pace which was frustrating.

Barlow a clear MoM for me with Moi Moi, Brierley and McNally close behind him.

Easy! Easy! Easy!

Was pretty disappointed in the Fev support today. Thought they would bring a decent crowd but wasn't really worth opening the South Stand for them. This was half way through the 1st half. They would have brought 3 x that that 3 years ago.

Can't wait to see the double Sam offload try on LCTV. I also thought that Tom Armstrong played very well today.

Actually no, with the obvious exception of Gareth C0ck, you were remarkably well behaved today. You look like world beaters when you turn up and just play rugby.

Well played today, showed some real class.

Oh and where does Emmit get his engine? The bloke must be well into his 70s and is carrying a few extra pounds round the belly, but the bloke just doesn't stop. Much respect.

Very nearly didn't go myself, I think a lot will have stayed away knowing there was little chance of a result.

Can anyone explain why e-cigs aren't allowed? It was quite funny getting told off by some power crazed geriatric in a high-vis for blowing a bit of water vapour into the open air.
