Think most Rugby fans would like to watch The Heavy Woollen Derby, that’s usually is a good game. I doubt Batley or Dewsbury have the facilities needed to host 3 games in one day, not to mention how small time The Championship will look playing in such small stadiums. Some games might have poor attendances but allot of people will stick around, look at the success of the Championship Finals day, 3 games on one day (2 of which are from lower divisions than these games). People have been complaining for years (me included) that The Championship doesn't get a chance to show itself properly, well this is that chance. Sure it could be a disaster but it could be a huge success, depends on how the fixtures are done & how its marketed but we'll see.


More likely to stop over in Blackpool than some of the places mentioned, Batley and Dewsbury for two!

I think it will be well attended as most clubs involved will have little opportunity for the fans to have a good day out as most have not been to finals or similar occassions and a match at Blackpool will be a real event to look forward too.

Blackpool can offer everyone what they want in every way , I always say "You only get what you pay for ", and this is very true , I NEVER stay in Blackpool well not in the Centre , or in Guest Houses , the Carolis love Ribby Hall , at Wrea Green just outside Blackpool , it is very relaxing , has accommodation for most pockets , we like the 3 bedroom Bungalows overlooking the Lake , but I have stayed at the Spa Hotel there a bit pricey but perfect for a Romantic Week-end

I have also stayed at the De Vere Complex , near Stanley Park , and for reasonable prices can recommend the Big Blue Hotel on the Pleasure Beach , the Suites are very big and well priced , the Restaurant very good , but a good deal is the Grosvenor Casino in the Sandcastle Building the food in the Restaurant there is First Class , and cheaper priced than most Pub food as the gamblers Subsidise the price .

You can of course pay around £15- £25 for a room in some guest houses , I remember where Salfordlad and Charlie Jnr stayed once , it had a choice of food ,"Eat it or don't Eat it "

Most fans in this league don't travel to away games so why think they will travel to Blackpool?

Bad idea that will blow back in the RFLs face but who will spin it as a success.

Fred have faith , as you I will travel anywhere , but im not keen on the Yorky grounds , the fans will travel to the Promised Land , especially if the weather is good , just out of interest where would be your preference ?

Well I make this prediction.

Should our team perform next season as they have done this we will take about 3k to Blackpool.

Oh and Charlie there is nothing wrong with the overwhelming number of Yorkshire grounds.

My thoughts exactly Fred, thats why I suggested a smaller ' friendlier ' venue, for the cost of renting Bloomfield Road they could put cheap subsidised travel to west Yorkshire

Best case scenario at Blackpool is 8,000 rattling around with some games in front of less than a 1,000

Worst case scenario at BatleyDewsbury is 4,000 but still a great atmosphere, and something that could then be built on

3,000 for a league match! , when was the last time that happened outside of Wigan?

Probably, just out of interest would you be watching all 6 matches? ,and how many Leythers would be hanging around for the Broncos v Doncaster or getting there early for Fev v Eagles?
