So do I. The game could be built up in town during the day with pre-match activities at the ground - good time for food stalls etc in a marquee.
But why is Saturday NEVER mentioned when discussing options. Trevor has said previously that the hospitality was brilliant last time against the French team and the gate was above average so I can't understand why we don't at least try a few.

I'm a traditionalist who prefers Sunday 3pm KO's but do you know what? I would not mind if the club came out and said 'We have tried Fridays so for a trial we will establish if our fans would support us with Saturday 6.30pm for the 2013 season to try something new and then review for 2014 season'

Have to say that if the club want to trial a day if we do have a problem fitting in all our fixtures on Sundays (can't see why that would be the case in fairness) then Saturday 6.30PM KO seems a good option to trial (certainly in Summer) as it seemingly ticks more boxes than Fridays at 8PM...
- Corporates seemingly like Saturdays.
- It can still ensure we have a active Junior Supporter club to build up as more young Children can attend a early evening kick off.
- It gives the players/coach part of a weekend off that they have asked for (Surely thats a wind up !)
- It isn't a rush home from work for a lot of people.
- It helps attract away support or fans of other clubs.
- It doesn't clash with any other major sporting event on TV or live.
- It gives the club a opportunity to use the time leading up to the match as 'part of the event' in effect making the match the main entertainment in a day of events to help
maximise the revenue that can be generated to the club and its partners (pre match activities entertainment and perhaps a reserve grade game etc, etc).

| Never quite understood why Leigh fans seem to get so hung up about Sunday kick offs. I imagine most fans want to see Leigh in Super League in the near future, in which case expect to play Mondays/Thursday(?)/Friday/Saturday/Sunday throughout the season, sometimes at just a week or so notice.

Well we have to maximise revenue. To do so it makes sense for us to play our games' against sides where it will increase away support although sadly there are very few Championship sides with decent away followings.
Notwithstanding that' our "attractive" fixtures are invariably televised for free on Premier Sports.
Don't think current Superleague clubs would put up with that. Do you ?

| But they do Frank, when was the last Wigan v Saints , Saints v Wire games that weren't televised. Sky pick the best games because they pay to do so. The RFL tell us we have to play on THursday because Premier have a deal with them, that gives us nothing.

| That's my point Lynda.
Championship clubs get nothing from the deal with Premier Sports. Superleague clubs get a few bob from Sky for the televising of their games

Views on here seem to be "if we play a few games on Friday I'm not renewing my season ticket because I like Sundays. Every day has its advantages and disadvantages, after moving to Sundays last year Hull FC have reverted to Friday nights, in part because they get few away fans at the KC and also because it is easier to sell corporate hospitality packages for a Friday night game.
When I went to the Stoop in August it was a Friday night, and after the game they had a band etc on in the bar after the game, which meant most fans stayed till past midnight. This could be a potential earner for the club if you have a few Friday night games, alongside the curry deal you did last year. Most people go straight home on a Sunday night (especially now Warrington buses stop running at 5ish) but with the above you could potentially have people in the stadium from 6-11 parting with their hard earned wonga.

| Well that's a nice idea but Leigh RLFC do not make any money from bar takings and I doubt many would stay to pay over £3 a pint when they are able to buy ale far more cheaply in the pubs'some of which also have live music on Friday nights.

Do Leigh not get a cut of the money made by the LSV on match day?
