The difference was most certainly in the kicking game, we matched them defensively but they just put us back in out 25 every time they got a kick away where as our response to that was putting it right down the throat of the full back.

we work on getting some pressure on their kicker and getting Riddy a bit of protection when its his turn with the boot and there is no reason we cant beat them up the hill in the semi's.

Saxton was a menace all night limping around the pitch for them.

Goulden put a massive stint in once again, and I cant help but notice that Riddy comes alive once Brierly takes to the field.

Definitely. We could do with you lot having a couple more 'twists and turns' though, as it looks (to me) ominously like you are getting in the groove again. I admire our lads' tenacity, in sticking with it, and they could even have nicked an (in my opinion) undeserved draw, but Featherstone looked the best team we have faced so far.

Curiously - and it has to give us hope for the semi - your worst form appears to have been at POR!

The video could prove me wrong, but Finn seemed to lie deep to take his kicks - while Martyn seemed to be taking the ball, very flat.

We blew that one with some terrible completion and why Maden threw that ball out I will never know.
Fev had runners and better distribution from the ruck, they dominated the ptb all night, illegally as always but they generally got away with it. IMO we needed a Nicho to compete in this area and put pace on the game, I believe this was a poor decision by Paul.
I felt Fev were much better but we stuck in and when we were desperate and played with pace we rattled them later on.
All in all mixed emotions as we lost and didn't play well for much of the game but we nearly clawed it back and can only learn from the poor selection.
Crap crowd but it looked more than Batley.

We definitely missed either duffs or Nicho tonight.

Bob ended up playing both hooker and scrum half for 30 mins which meant he was knackered and we ended up with no penetration at the ruck.

Fev on the other hand brought on Ellis who i thought turned the game slightly with his yards from ahb.

See the defensive sense in starting briscoe at 7 but IMO wrong decision tonight.

Still, a valiant effort from all out there. The defensive effort I thought was one of our best.

Seriously though having seen all the teams this season I do think that Leigh look like the best team we have faced. I must admit I was kind of happy to see the weather as it was because Leigh look like a very good team on a dry track and i thought the conditions would favour Fev. From a Fax fan point of view I was very happy with the result as it means if we can(Obviously a big if) manage to scrape past Fev on Thursday we are in with a great shout of finishing the season top of the table.

Like someone says though theres many twists and turns to come yet but i think we have already seen that Fev, Leigh and Fax are the top 3 teams in this division.

And what a fantastic division it is to. Jack Dearden was buzzing when talking about last nights game but I was feeling a bit down and partisan so I didn't think it was that good. What I do think is that Fev did play a good as they could on the night and so did we for that matter. There wasn't that much between us and we were unlucky not to draw the game. Had Matt Gardner taken that ball and scored we may have even got the ball back drove it to the posts and Riddy drop goaled. Game won. Whats the saying, "If, ifs and buts were fivers and tenners we would all be millionaires".
